Overall I am very happy with these new heads. I installed them on my Gibson Less Paul Special 2. However, the lack of documentation is discomforting. I bought these heads assuming I could just drop them in and start playing again but that wasn't quite the case in my experience. Apparently the Special 2 has slightly smaller holes for it's tuning heads (like .050 inches smaller) and they do not fit without some slight modification to the stock. If you use them on a Special 2, you WILL have to make the holes larger. DO NOT DO THIS unless you are experienced and know what you are doing or else you can completely screw up your fretboard and have to buy a new one, which can get pricey. I do highly recommend these heads but I do wish I had known beforehand that I would need to modify my guitar. Just some simple stats on the dimensions would have helped immensely
I replaced all of my prs se tuners with these and I couldn't be happier. They are a direct replacement no modifications necessary just take off the old and put the new on. The string post don't sit as high and the actual tuning knobs sit a bit closer to the head of the guitar but it doesn't affect anything just some things I noticed. I will say they made the guitar sound a little different in a good way I think they add some sustain. And they really make a difference if you have a prs se with a tremolo doesn't knock out of tune anymore.
