This is an excellent practice pad for every one. The coated surface is great when playing brushes, and the projection of sound is just great. When playing with sticks, it is just a bit loud because of the coated surface, but it is still a perfect pad. When it is played on a drum, it is also a bit loud.Because it has a rim, it is a great tool for practising rim shots, rim knocks, and other things that utilise the rim like a one handed roll. The pad doesn't move around when playing on a tabletop or a drum, which is very good. The pricing is very reasonable, and the money you put into it is worth it.Overall, the Sabian Quiet Tone Snare Drum Practice Pad is an excellent tool for all around practice, whether you're a brush player, or a stick player, and the features are excellent.

This pad is convenient in that it can be placed on a snare head. It does quiet the sound. However, it does not provide an authentic bounce. Multiple stroke rolls cannot really be practiced. Additionally, it doesn't provide much more cushion that a rubber practice pad. It is definitely not worth the price.

Quiet Tone works as advertised

By DAIVD

Comments about Sabian Quiet Tone Snare Drum Practice Pad:

I like this pad because it enables rim shots and clicks. The surface is less artificial than my Real Feel pad and the rebound is more realistic. The Quiet Tone supposedly is tunable for more or less rebound and response, but I haven't tried that yet. The pad fits perfectly on my snare, which is where I use my practice pad almost exclusively. It is roughly the same size and weight as my Real Feel so it's at least as portable. Overall it is worth the extra expense for me but may not be for everyone. I would recommend it.

Excellent Practice Pad

By Vance Ferrigno

from Travelers Rest, SC

Comments about Sabian Quiet Tone Snare Drum Practice Pad:

Relatively new drummer and was using another pad that moved around when you struck it. Just got this pad and love it. By laying over the drum as it does, it allows me to work the rudiments from a true drumming position and the quiet response allows me to do so without driving my wife crazy. It also returns the stick with the same feel as the snare. Some other pads have too much bounce.

Sabian 14" Practice Pad

By RICHARD MOQUIN

from CT

Comments about Sabian Quiet Tone Snare Drum Practice Pad:

I am having great fun with this pad because it has a broad striking area. I can strike the head in multiple areas as if it is multiple heads to get left hand and right hand individual hits. This pad is a little expensive, but I expect to use it for years to come. It is great for MOELLER METHOD practice.

Best Practice Pad I have ever owned

By Roman

from Tucson

Comments about Sabian Quiet Tone Snare Drum Practice Pad:

I have owned just about every practice pad avaiable and I would have to say this is the best. It's great placed on top of a snare drum for a real snare sound and feel at reduced volume or you can place on a coffee table and play it at even a quiter volume and still feel like a real snare drum. I haven't tried brush's on it yet, however I'm sure it will be ideal for brushwork as well.

Eats your sticks

By Ryan-5233v

from Minneapolis

Comments about Sabian Quiet Tone Snare Drum Practice Pad:

I would say this is a decent pad, but not as quiet as I expected. The only problem with this (as the title says) is that it will eat your sticks up. The drumhead has the texture of sandpaper and the metal rims are actually kind of sharp. This is a good pad for concert things (smaller stick heights + volume) but is not at all quiet for practicing marching percussion (far larger stick heights + volume). Good rebound though...

Sabian Quiet Tone Snare Drum Practice Pad

By David Easter

from Morris Plains, NJ

Comments about Sabian Quiet Tone Snare Drum Practice Pad:

This practice pad simulates the feel of a real snare drum without the volume. The additional bonus is having the ability to practice your brush technique.

This is the bomb

By Bushrat

from Cajun Country

Comments about Sabian Quiet Tone Snare Drum Practice Pad:

I put this on my snare, stuff my bass drum with quilts, put dampners on my toms and cymbals, and get after it. Haven't had one neighbor throw bottles at my house yet. This pad on your snare sounds great. It retains the sound of your snare but WAY quiter. I am playing a Yamaha Paul Leim Signature snare and let me tell you IT IS LOUD! This pad tames it nicely. Smart sucker came up with this.
