At over 8 lbs., it's an extra-heavy model with strong, clear-cutting stick definition.

Developed with Neil Peart of Rush, the Paragon series blends 2 styles of lathing for a very balanced cymbal tone. Pinpoint lathing creates a narrower groove for a fast, lively response on the top, while the traditional AA lathing creates a wider groove for a fuller, richer tone on the bottom side.

Very sweet sounding ride

By

from Rio Rancho, NM

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Ride Cymbal:

I had been looking for a ride for quite awhile. I took my time in researching this as it would be the most expensive cymbal that I would have to purchase other than Hi-hats. I looked at Zildjian's Ping, Rock, Sweet and Megabell rides. To me, the Zildjians all sounded too "gongy". I had a salesman steer me toward the Paragon, of which I was rather reluctant to check out as I have never been a huge fan of products made by, or endorsed by celebraties. But after checking the 22" Paragon ride out, that was it. You can get a variaty of sounds out of this monster. I love the bell. when I ride on the bell, I like to turn my stick around and beat that sucker with the heavy end of the stick and that thing just sings. depending on where you ride the rest of the cymbal will determine what sound you get out of it. The one thing I am not too happy with is that the closer to the edge you get on it the more "wash" or "over tones" you get with it. I don't really care for that too much. But over all it is by far the best cymbal that I have heard as far as rides go. The Bell doesn't sound "Gongy" at all. definately recommend

Zildjian beware

By

from Houston, Texas

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Ride Cymbal:

This cymbal is the best ride on the market. Two types of lathing and a hand-hammered bell give this cymbal a bit of EVERYTHING. I am an active musician and, as far as this ride cymbal goes, I would have to say, "Zildjian who"???? You can get ANY type of tone off this cymbal depending on where you play on it. A nice wash near the edge, a very dry ping near the bell, and a bell that cuts through anything. I would not use another ride.......EVER.

Best Cymbal I've ever owned

By

from Plano, Texas

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Ride Cymbal:

i Bought this cymbal a good 6 to 7 months ago now and i can truly say I've never owned a cymbal that could compliment my kit and other cymbals as well as this one can. this cymbal has the versatiliy to produce just about any sound you could ask for. i used to have to use a ZILBEL to get any tone out of a bell over my other cymbals but i have no need for it any more because of how amazingly well the hand hammered bell slices through the mix. everything about this cymbal is great and its honestly the best buy ive ever made.

Versatile

By

from Iowa

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Ride Cymbal:

I bought this cymbal a little over 6 months ago and have not looked back since. It is a little expensive, but is worth every penny. I like to keep my playing and abilities as well rounded as possible. This ride can be used in almost any application. I have used it while playing everything from death metal to fusion. When played near the outside edge, it sounds great when crashed with the shoulder of the stick. When played closer to the center, or even near to the bell, this cymbal produces a great ping that can be heard through loud guitars, but is not the typical tacky sound of such a heavy cymbal. The bell of the cymbal is my favorite part. The sound is warm and yet loud. Latin ride patterns sound awesome with this cymbal. When used live, Paragons looks amazing under lights. The only downside I have experienced with this cymbal up to this point is that the logo absolutely must be avoided when cleaning. Other than that, it is amazing. I have no desire to change to a different ride. I have way too many cymbals, and this one will stay on my kit for a long time, no matter what genre of music I am playing or what band I am playing with. Neil Peart and Sabian really created something special with this ride. It's awesome!

Heavy, Versatile Ride

from Post Falls, ID

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Ride Cymbal:

This ride is one of my favorites. It's pingy, but has a nice wash. It's got a nice crash to it, and the bell sounds really good. Overall just a great ride to have, and a really good choice if you only have one ride cymbal. Sabian cymbals are quality, this cymbal is very well made.
