Medium-weight cymbal with large bell boosting volume and power for fast, explosive response.

Developed with Neil Peart of Rush, Sabian Paragon Series Cymbals blend 2 styles of lathing for a very balanced cymbal tone. Pinpoint lathing creates a narrower groove for a fast, lively response on the top, while the traditional AA lathing creates a wider groove for a fuller, richer tone on the bottom side.

I play hardcore & deathmetal. These cymbals are amazing & fits the part perfectly. I own the 16" crash, 14" high hats, & 22" ride. The high hats are smooth, the ride & it's bell sounds sick & the crash is loud but clear. These cymbals are simply amazing, if any drummer wants to get serious, then they need some serious cymbals. The Neil Peart Paragon's are the perfect cymbals...hands down.

This crash was not for me. It was way loud, but unpleasantly gongy sounding. A lot of mid range, and very little shimmer. However, it's built just like all Sabian stuff, really great. It's probably suited for heavier music, I'm sure it cuts really well.

AMAZING

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Crash Cymbal:

I just had the privilage of buying the 18 inch Paragon Crash, and the sound is incredible! however, its very loud! it goes on the right side of my kit, and already my right ear is popping. Tip: put some duct tape on the bottom of it. it makes it sound darker.

Excellent

By Curtis B

from Sulphur, La

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Crash Cymbal:

I have been playing Sabian Cymbals for many years. I have 15 and 16 inch thin crash. Until I put them up against the Paragons, I thought their was nothing that could beat their sound. I am so impressed with tone, I am looking at now the 16 inch paragon to replace my current cymbal. Beats Zildian K Custom hands down.

Most Dynamic Crashes!

By Mark

from Rochester, MN

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Crash Cymbal:

I am a very big Peart fan and I love what he brings to the art of percussion. Having sorted my bias about him, I went to a pro shop to try the new Paragons out. The feel of the crashes were very smooth and did not bite with overtones even when administering harder hits. The sound is full and bright at every volume and blends with so many different styles of music. I really like the way these cymbals sound when you hang on them during beats! These cymbals are a great tool for shaping your sound. I play with two 18" Paragon crashes and the matching Paragon hats on my setup and balance them with HHX and APX crashes and a HH Dry Ride(I did not prefer the Paragon ride over my HH). The overall satisfaction these cymbals provide (both live and in the studio) make the price irrelevant. If it sounds the way you want it to sound, price doesn't matter. These are great cymbals and can provide you with that certain sense of flare you may be so determinably seeking!

Great Cymbals from a Great Drummer!

By Bob Gonzalez

from Perry, OH

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Crash Cymbal:

When I got the opportunity to purchase a Paragon crash, I couldn't pass it up. I tried several AA's and HH's, but the 16" Paragon was far and away the best cymbal I played. It gives great penetration on loud numbers, and can be very subtle if played at a low volume. I actually have used it as a small ride cymbal during more intricate parts of songs. The craftsmanship is top notch, as to be expected from Sabian. I would recommend these crashes for anyone who can afford to get a quality cymbal for their set-up!

What can I say he's the professor!

By drummerboy

from Crystal Lake, IL

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Crash Cymbal:

Like the professor himself, I have been an advid Zildjian player all my life. When Neil crossed over to Sabian and created his own line of cymbals it startled me. I have alway's admired Neil's sound and his cymbals always blended perfectly. When I had a chance to play these for the first time I was blown away. The weight of these cymbals and clarity are second to none. The professor ("as he is known by") has done his homework on these and brought to Sabian a winner for years to come with this cymbal line. I recommend these as a must for any drummer. Take it from a drummer with over 30 years of experience and still going strong. He knows what he's talking about. Give them a listen and find out for yourself. Zildjian watch out, another drummer's ready to cross the line.

Worth a listen

By robgarbo

from San Diego, CA

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Crash Cymbal:

I've been a Zildjian guy for years. Every once in a while I'll check out what the competition is up to. I'm not a huge Neil Peart fan, but, the Paragon series will give everyone a run for their money. The 20" has a nice shimmer and excellent sizzle at low volume or full force. Aesthetically pleasing too, very muted logos unlike the black ink used on others. When I'm in the market for some smaller hi-hats, I'll be giving the Paragon series an audition as well as the trusty Zildjians. TIP: Make sure you bring in your other cymbals to find the right match when auditioning a new Paragon for your cymbal bag.
