The 19" China has a small bell, a high bow, and an extremely wide-lipped edge that is HHX-hammered, for a more traditional Oriental look and sound. The heavier 20" China has a drier, more direct response.

Developed with Neil Peart of Rush, the Paragon series blends 2 styles of lathing for a very balanced cymbal tone. Pinpoint lathing creates a narrower groove for a fast, lively response on the top, while the traditional AA lathing creates a wider groove for a fuller, richer tone on the bottom side.

Sabian Paragon 19" China

By Robert Record

from Cincinnati, Ohio

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon China:

This thing is awesome. One of the best out there.Loud, Quick, and very cutting. Very easy to open up.I also own a 19 x-treme which sounds amazing but you really have to smack it to open it up. Not the Paragon. It is one of my favorite cymbals.

Fantastic China cymbal

from El Paso, TX

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon China:

I have always been a Zildjian guy, but I had trouble finding a China in their lineup that had the sound I wanted - dark and trashy without any "pang" sound to it, one that opens up easily, and with a fairly short sustain. I found all of that in the Paragon 19", which is now the one and only Sabian in my kit. It is probably medium-thin in terms of weight. Hit hard, it has a powerful sound with a quick decay, and at lower volumes, it still delivers a trashy wash with a relatively longer sustain. A versatile China that can be used for just about any genre of music.

Wicked China Cymbal

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon China:

I got this 19 inch chinese to replace a small zildjian 14 inch that was super badly cracked. And boy am i glad i picked this one. Its super loud and it sounds like a real china, not washy or bright its extremely dark and explosive. It sounds sick for any genre of music i play it on, but especially good with a breakdown or something hard like that.

Not for me.

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon China:

first off this cymbal was the 5th china ive added to my kit and coming in among a 2002 thin, HHX evolution, K Custom, and an A Custom is walking into the lions den for a china. now the 19 inch paragon doesnt sound "bad" i just dont like the sound. its incredibly washy to the point where its obnoxious and its incredibly loud to the point where it drowns out my other cymbals i does however have a neat sound, just not what im looking for

when you think china, you're imagining the paragon 19"

By Rob

from Seattle, WA

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon China:

I recently got rid of my trusted old Wuhan since I hadn't played any metal for a while and didn't have much call for it, but the 19" paragon has convinced me that a china need not be relegated as a limited "effect". The dynamic range and versatility of this cymbal rivals that of a good ride, and in fact it sounds great playing ostenatos. I asked the salesman to play it with a full kit and was surprised to hear it produce a dark, complex, jazzy sizzle with a full frequency response at pianissimo. At fortissimo, the response is instant with plenty of sustain, finally fading out in a smooth, even taper. The stick response is initially soft and buttery, increasing in resilience as you apply greater force. The effect is extremely satisfying, like a well tuned touring suspension that will respond in the curves without jarring your teeth loose at every bump in the road. This cymbal sounds like a china should sound- full, rich, complex, dynamic, and edgy. as a former drum shop manager, I've heard and played a lot of gear. No other china I've heard combines tone, responsiveness, and feel so seamlessly. It's a pleasure to play, and worth every penny

im diggn it

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon China:

I bought teh 19 inch china about a year ago and it sounds just as good now as it did the day i bought it. its super loud and left my ears ringing for hours. it has a super dry sound to it and is ideal for breakdowns( if your in a band). downside is that the sound drones on longer than id like. id like the sound to be fast, but i love that china. i bough it and so should you. dam that was corny, but seriously, its an awsome cymbal and you will be pleased
