With dark, low-end response and much volume potential this highly responsive model can play loudly but is always musical.

As Dave Weckl describes, "Legacy is the darker side of my sound. These cymbals are vibrant, trashy and beautiful, all at once. 'Tone Texture' is what makes Legacy special. These cymbals have a ton of dark, musical color that encompasses the full tonal spectrum but digs way down deep." Weckl characterizes the Legacy Crashes as "punchy but complex." 2-year limited warranty.

Worth the extra money

Comments about Sabian Legacy Crash Cymbal:

After searching high and low for a good 18" crash cymbal to compliment my 16", I came across the Legacy crashes. I was hesitant at first, because I play pretty hard, and these cymbals are fairly thin. I didn't think there was any way this cymbal could withstand my hard playing. When I put it next to my 16" crash, and play them together, I was stunned at the sound. It has medium pitch, almost dark, with a very slight trashy overtone that comes out when you hit it hard. Played lightly, a bright shimmer is heard, and the more you lay into it, the darker the tone. I've had a blast just seeing how many different sounds I can get out of this cymbal. The thin profile is deceiving, because it's flexible enough to take hard hits. I highly recommend this cymbal to everyone, from soft jazz to hard rock. You'll be very glad you spent the little bit of extra money on it.
