If you're a beginner, and still have stock cymbals or brass cymbals, you should definitely get this pack. They have a decent sound at the price of a ride cymbal. the only problem is you won't want to keep them very long. For one, they blemish really easily, especially the crashes. Secondly, the only cymbal (not including hihats) that doesn't have too short of a sustain while crashed is the ride. The 18" is the worst cymbal in the pack. It has almost no volume or sustain, and it blemishes with every hit. The hihats are okay, just not the best. The ride is decent, but you might want to stack a bell on top of it because the bell on it makes the ride have a wash sound every time you hit it. the ride is the best crash in the pack (?). The 16" crash is pretty good; much better than the 18". Beginners, go ahead and get it, but anyone else might want to stay away.
For the meager price I was surprised by the quality. And I was even more surprised that you get not just the hats, ride and a crash, but you get two crashes! That being said, you do get what you pay for. The ride isn't as deep and sustaining as I care for, the hats seem to change pitch when you put too much pressure on them with the foot pedal, and the 14" crash is just too tinny for my tastes. The clear winner in this pack is the 18" crash. Even if I were to sell the other cymbals I would probably keep this one because it's got nice sustain, the tone is full, and it's got everything else you would expect from a good all around crash.
This cymbal set was made with one thing in mind... loudness. They are great for anyone who wants to start playing rock, or metal, and are great for practice drumset's. The downside of these cymbals are the fact they they blimish real easy, and can lose there look's within a month, but that shouldn't stop a true rocker, now should it? :P
these are really well not the best cymbal but for the price they are the best. the sound is out of this world and you get your moneys worth out of them. so this is a great deal
