B8 review

By Jennifer DeSilva

from Georgia

Overall the tone is very good on the ride, the crashes (16" & 18") have great sustained sound and the hat is crisp. This is a very soild initial upgrade on a starter set. Very happy with this purchase.
Really liked the bonus 18" crash.
After just a month of fairly hard use they actually seem to sound better than when first played. No cracking at the stem holes. So far so good.
The 18" crash made the cost very good for an initial upgrade on the cymbals that came with my starter set of drums.

Great set.

By MATT BUNTJE

from Minnesota

I didn't get this set but the set i got came with everything in this set plus a 10 inch splash and a 14 inch crash. I got the B8 Super Set. The cymbals sound great. I was more of a Zildjian guy before I got these, but these were on discount. I just couldn't turn it down and these are winning me over. I love every cymbal that comes with it. The only problem I have now is that I have too many cymbals and not enough stands. Never thought I would have that problem. I just can't say enough about these cymbals. Sabian, you did good.

Sabian B8

By Josh R. K.

from Hedgesville, W.Va

These cymbals are amazing! I've had them for over two years now (Which is how long I've been a drummer) and they're still going! Granted , the cymbals are starting to shpow their wear and tear (my 16" has a crack in it), but other than some stick b;lemishes appearing on the surface these cymbals are awesome!Good quality, good sound, good value, and good all around product!

Great entry level cymbals!

By JoeyT-cuzjo

from Charlottesville, VA

I bought this cymbal pack a little over a month ago, when i got them, I instantly recognized sabian quality. Please keep in mind that they are thin crashes, so don't abuse them, they don't need to be hit hard. They should last years if you hit them right, I've had to adjust but It will be worth it. I only have 1 straight stand and a hihat stand right now, but im getting 2 boom stands soon. I'll break the review into 4 parts - 16" Thin Crash, 18" Thin Crash, 20" Medium Ride, and 14" Hats.

16" Thin Crash: 9/10. This is my favorite crash in the pack, very bright and sounds fantastic, it is moderately touchy, you don't need to hit it too hard to get the maximum effect from it.

18" Thin Crash: 6/10. This is my least favorite cymbal in the pack. It sounds too dark for my likings, much more like a crash/ride than a crash. It still sounds and feels OK and at least it was free. This one is also touchy, don't abuse it.

20" Ride: 10/10. I love this cymbal. so much better than the ZBT, it's very bright, very loud, its bell sounds fantastic, and it has a long overtone which I like. I highly recommend this ride. dont be afraid to crash it, it's very sturdy and well built. Don't expect it to sound like an AAX based off this review, it sounds amazing, for its price. 20" aax stage ride is still my favorite

14" Hats: 9.5/10. These Hats are very crisp and clean. The chk sounds great and the hats are nice and loud. It sounds pretty good sizzling, but not great.

Overall: 9/10. I'm not going to lie. B8's are SO much better than ZBT's. a great, long lasting, entry/intermediate level cymbal pack. If you're tight on cash, and need some decent cymbals, these are the way to go. If you have a few extra hundred bucks though, i'd definitely check out the Sabian AAX's, those are my favorites

Not that great

By Chris Messineo

from Roseville, CA

The hi-hats sound terrible. The Crash rings forever, the Ride is not bad that's why I gave it a 2 stars. You're better off going to the store and hitting some cymbals and buying the ones that sound good.

THE GREATEST!!

By Little drummer boy-iTKLj

from CA

i love these so much its crazy. everybody i play with falls in love with the 14 inch crash. the only problem is that i play ever day at leaast an hour so they do get worn. the 16 inch crash cracked after 7 months but still a great cymbal. i loved it so much i cut it and continued to play it. the ride rings a little long but its alright

Love em'

By Austin Freeman

from Andover Kansas

Just set these things up today. One thing I noticed is they aren't are bronze not gold, but they match the cymbals I was going to get rid of so now I can keep them. I played on them for about an hour, love em. Sound is great, they are beautiful, and they are very heavy duty, not cheap at all. I love them.

Very good

By zrawk95

These cymbals are very good. The set I play at church has the 13" hats and the 16" crash. I have used everything from these to Paiste 2002s and Sabian AAs and I like these almost as well as anything.
