Overview

The Alu Bell features a dome-shape and narrow striking edge. Aluminum creates a clear and musical bell-like response and is very lightweight to produce long, sustaining notes. Every Alu Bell is individually created using traditional sand-casting methods, so each piece has a rough surface. Aluminum Bells are comparatively thick and have an unfinished look, but their tone is very sweet and musical, with great sustain. They are also quality protected by the Sabian one-year warranty.

I am a huge fan of Sabian so when I saw that they had the alu bel, I didn't think twice before I bought it, I was disappointed. It's a very loud bell and can cut though any of my cymbals (Sabian APX) and drums ((5)Pearl Forum) But it doesn't sound anything like a zil-bel. Obviously though do to both being made of two different metals. But the alu is a much lower sound. I personally would recommend just hitting the bells on you cymbals or buying a zil-bel.

Legit

By D.J. Ottis

from Bay City Tx

i bought this bell a few months ago and it has been doing justice for my kit. if your into heavy metal, this bell is for you. it cuts through the mix with the high end of the cymbal. when played alone, the bell has an INSANE sustain, which can be dampened with a tighter grib on the cymbal. however, when played with the band or in a mix, the sustain ceases to be heard. it cuts through the mix and falls back into place. great bell in my opinion.

A new sound

By stephen marinelli

from lapeer

This is anamazing bell. But everyone that compares it to the zil-bel is not going to like it because its a completely different type of bell. it insanely thick so theres no worry of breaking it and its stylish. its really high and pingy almost over welmingly loud. the ring last about close to 45 seconds but if you mix it to a heavy beat or drum fill its perfect. overall: high pitched ping, new type of sound, and really strong.

Best FX Cymbal I Own

By Dre Drizzle

from Desert Hot Springs, California

I recently got this cymbal at my local music store. One word to describe this, WOWZA!!! This bell has a nice ring and a pretty long sustain. I love it. Thanks, Sabian!

Good, but not what I expected

By Crutch

from Edinburg, Texas

This cymbal is nice. It has a crisp bright tone. I recommend this cymbal to players who are a little more seasoned. This is nothing like the zil-bell and can be a waste of money and space if you don't know what you're doing. It's an overall good addition. And since it's thick, you'd probably break your stick rather than damage the cymbal.

LOUD

By Matt

from NC

I recommend doing research on this cymbal, or trying it before you buy it, it was nothing like I expected. But that doesn't matter, this cymbal is LOUUUUDDDDD but it is great for metal, and just ambient noises here and there. It rings a lot and has a very distinct tone. I would recommend this cymbal to anyone who got tired of zil-bels and other "normal" effect cymbals.

Sounds like a tuning fork

By nick b

from boston, ma

This thing sounds nothing like a real bell or zil bel, it sounds much more like a tuning fork, a high pitched annoying, electronic sounding thing that lasts for an eternity. looks cool though

Good, but not a replacement for teh zil-bell thing

By NICK!

from Austin TX

This is a good effect cymbal. it sounds like a wind chime, not the zil-bel that you hear on so many metalcore recordings!

Great Bell

By Blake

from New Jersey

This bell is a great addition to any drum set. It has a great ping sound and it is nice and dry so it cuts through the mix really nice. If you are looking for a bell this is what you want.

great effect cymbal!!

By bballdrummer

from napa, CA

This is a great little effect cymbal. It has a nice ping to it. I was planning on sitting it on my ride but i like the way my rides bell sounds better so i bought a cymbal holder to put it on. I'm glad I got it, good purchase
