These cymbals sound and look absolutely beautiful on any drum kit. The crashes have, in my opinion, the perfect crash sound when struck properly, and they both even have phenomenal bells. I am not really picky about my rides, so I don't have a lot to say about this ride other than it works for me and has a nice bell. I definitely love the hats. You can definitely make them bark and sizzle as much as you want. They are very versatile. Overall, these cymbals are more than worth the price.

First of all, these are fantastic sounding cymbals. They cut through a loud rock band with no issue. Nice and bright modern sound with lots of energy. On the other hand, I have now received 2 sets via UPS that had problems. The first set was nice and new sealed in the box, but the 16 inch had a pit out of the top of it, kinda like steel looks with rust pits. I don't know if it was a bad cast or what. Guitar Center agreed to cross ship me a new set and make things right. Now I receive my replacement set. The shipping box was sealed, but the product box had already been opened. Sure enough, I unpack the cymbals and the 18 inch has a dent in the bell right next to the hole. This was obviously a return that GC sent back out. This is not acceptable. Now I have to drag my cymbals back to the store and hope I can find a decent replacement set. Never will I buy cymbals via mail/ups again. Even new ones. I love the sound of the AAX Sabian cymbals, but now I am questioning the durability of any of them.

Comments about Sabian AAX Limited Edition Cymbal Pack:

These are nice cymbals for the money. Crashes sound decent, xplosion cymbals make an interesting sound compared to say a medium crash. Hi hats on the other hand sound a bit dull when hit closed. Don't really get that nice "chick" sound out of them I'm looking for. Overall nice cymbals but be sure to play them in person before buying if you can, you may be surprised.

Comments about Sabian AAX Limited Edition Cymbal Pack:

I love these cymbals. The hi-hat has a very clear and distinct sound closed and has a very bright sound that is not overly-trashy when open. Many hi-hats I have played on have a very trashy sound when open, but this has just enough of a trash sound but still remains clear and distinct. Closed, it sounds very clear and has a darker tone, which I like a lot. The ride has a clear sound. It does not have a tin-like sound, which I like very much. The bell is awesome, not quite as great as if you were to get a dry-bell ride, but I think this bell is the best of all of the lathed bells i have played. It is sharp and cutting and noticeable above the other cymbals. The ride is crash-able, which I love for accents. My favorite part about this pack are the crashes. These are by far my favorite crashes, they pack quite a punch! Loud, explosive, fast, cutting, and with the perfect amount of sustain. They are great for faster and harder music, so i think they work great for hard rock or especially metal. These would also be good in standard rock or pop, but I would not get these if you play jazz or other types of refined music. Overall, this is a great set, perfect for the stage as they are made for, but they also work for the studio very nicely. Hope this helps!

I purchased this set for my son who is a professional. Not only was he extatic with the gift, as it was the exact set he wished for, I ordered it on Friday, and received it Tuesday, Christmas Eve, literally minutes before he arrived for dinner. All told the most amazing experience I ever had ordering musical equipment. Bill is the MAN!!!

          Best cymbal pack setup

Comments about Sabian AAX Limited Edition Cymbal Pack:

Ive bought the A custom and Avedis cymbal packs in the past and owned tons of zildjian gear especially but I really like the musicality and clarity that Sabian has. This pack is fantastic. I got mine way on sale and I was expecting to not really use the ride and continue using my ZIldjian sweet ride. I was suprised and glad the 21in Stage Ride makes a phenomenal crash ride. I also now use a 21in AAX Raw Bell Dry Ride for my pingy sounds. I love that they pitch match the whole set so the crashes all make a little scale and they just sound perfect. Love the hats. Nice and warm without being too washy like A customs tend to do.

Comments about Sabian AAX Limited Edition Cymbal Pack:

I have played Paiste and Zildjian for many years. I was talked into this set by a pretty experienced drummer who has been playing for a long time. I prefer these much more than the others. I do like the Zildjian K series, but these are quite a bit cheaper line as the K's are comparable to the HHX's. These are great for Rock or Metal, but I could easily see a Jazz or Blues drummer using these in larger venues where some volume is needed. They have great attack and decay, they are definitely explosive. I like the brighter tones for a lot of fast playing where darker tones I like to have as accent. I do have the 21" Stage ride where this pack has the 20". Also, I liked the Xplosion hats much better than the stage, but I could see the stage hats being more useful in a situation with not mics and seem like they will take more abuse. The AAX darks are great add on pieces to this pack. Amazed by the sound.

Comments about Sabian AAX Limited Edition Cymbal Pack:

I just picked these up based on a friend's recommendation and hearing them at his last gig where he tore it up. I started playing about 2.5 yrs ago and still had the entry level Meinl HCS's and upgraded to the Zildjian ZHT's but they just didn't have that full sound so I went with these and spent the extra $$, WOW !! I really love the difference in their full tones and sound resonations. I would definitely recommend these cymbals.

I love these things! Been using this very same cymbal set for about five years now.
They look almost new when you give em a nice shining and they maintain their shine even when dirty.
the logos are long gone, but that can be fixed
          These cymbals are very versatile.
          Great value, top quality.

Comments about Sabian AAX Limited Edition Cymbal Pack:

Pros and Cons:Pros:16" and 18" xplosion Crashes are amazing! Big attack, Bright and responsive, medium decay, very loud yet musical in tone...could not be more impressed! Cons: None. Pros:14" Stage Hats sound very good in a small room while practicing...good stick definition and "chick" when ya slap them together. Good open and partially open shimmer while joggin' on the double kick. Cons: weak sounding in larger rooms with not much cut against a Marshall tube half stack. Top "hat" is a little thin. For Stage, I would recommend the xcellerator hats, but these work OK for rehearsal/practice or small venue. 20" Stage ride: Pros: Nice, bright ride with decent stick definition, good bell, good crashability and tonal balance. Cons: A little too much wash and the decay is a little too legnthy for my taste but all in all, it's a good, balanced ride. I would rate this cymbal pack as an 8.75 out of 10.
