Overview

Topped with a solid, raw bell, the versatile Sabian AA Raw Bell Dry Ride Cymbal delivers strong, dry stick articulation with a touch of tone at every volume.

The Sabian AA Raw-Bell Dry Ride taps into the bright, classic sounds of the award-winning cymbal company's traditional AA series. Topped by a raw, unlathed bell, this medium-heavy model is designed to deliver strong, dry stick articulation with a touch of tone at every volume. The raw bell responds with a bright, extremely solid note, while strokes across the bow area are consistently strong and cutting. A powerful cymbal by design, the Sabian Raw-Bell Dry Ride Cymbal delivers solid sticking, but with a tonal quality that makes this a surprisingly musical and versatile 'dry' design.

Commented Sabian product specialist Mark Love: "The innovative Raw-Bell design proved so popular in our Hand Hammered series (it's the choice of Phil Collins, Jose Pasillas and Geoff Dugmore amongst many others) that there was a huge demand for the same model only with a brighter, more cutting sound. This AA version has traditional wide-blade lathing circling its solid, raw-bell, so wherever a stick lands the sound is always defined, powerful and clear on every stroke. The AA Raw-Bell Dry Ride cymbal has that power and definition to deliver a kick of energy."

The bright, traditional sound of a Sabian AA cymbal offers a distinct contrast to the darker, traditional sound of the Hand Hammered series. Starting with B20 bronze multi-rolled and processed for maximum durability before being shaped to a high profile under 75 tons of hydraulic pressure and machine hammered for a tonal consistency, Sabian AA cymbals are energized, bright, and musical. A versatile series with some very specialized models, Sabian AA is ideal for any music requiring bright tonal presence, power and cut.

The Sabian AA Raw-Bell Dry Ride cymbal is crafted from Sabian B20 'cast' bronze, the world's most musical and durable cymbal metal. Available in Natural and Brilliant Finish, it is - like all Sabian AA cymbals - quality-protected by the One-Year Warranty.

Smooth

By MICHAEL PUCCETTI

I got this used for 145, and I love it. Its heavy, smooth with little overtones. Cuts through drum noise without overtones. Get One!

Raw Bell Dry Ride

By Emiliano Antonio

from Cuernavaca, Morelos

I bought this cymbal in brilliant finish 6 months ago, it is great for jazz if you measure your drumstick hit, the only thing I give 4 stars its because its decay its like 30 seconds long, you cannot wash with it because its going to sound all night long the sound. But it is a great Ride

This cymbal sounds great playing jazz or rock. It is a pleasure to play. It has great response and has a wonderful controlled sound yet rings through just right. I got an excellent deal at the Queens Store.

Love at first sound!

By Brian

from Mobile, Al.

I was at a local GC store when I came across this cymbal. I had been eyeing an HH RBDR that was on a stand for months. I wanted a similar cymbal to it but a bit brighter and cutting ... Voila, The AA RBDR was it . It had the right amount of ping, shimmer and wash to suit me in every situation. Just by choosing the right stick and (wood) bead types I can change the sound from a brighter tone to a more darker one. It can be played sofly but faster as in fast jazz patterns and fit right in with no obtrusive buildup of wash, but when the next tune calls for rock, it delivers no problem. Theres are a variety of sounds from different areas of this cymbal-higher pitched and more penetrating near the bell, just about ideal right in the middle and shimmery and a little dark near the edge for softer blues songs. I use the shank of the stick to bang out cymbal "barks" like small crashes during a build up in a tune. Oh yeah, the bell, you have to be careful with it or you may loose your hearing! I feel it adequate to just hit it with the bead of the stick most of the time, if you use the shank it sounds like your ear is next to a fire bell. Its not really a crashable cymbal but you can crash on it -it gives out a deep gongy sound- but I don't need it to be since I place an 18"" K crash right next it slightly overlapping it. Enjoy!

Great cymbal, not exactly my sound

By Tyler

from spring, texas

The Sabian raw bell dry ride cymbal is an amazing cymbal! I bought this cymbal about a month ago and have loved it ever since. It is got to be one of the loudest cymbals out there, sometimes i ride on that thing and the rest of my band has to turn there amps up!!! I think the bell of it is amazing and i constantly ride on the bell because the cymbal it self is not exactly the sound i want. So i would say if you play metal or heavy rock its one of the best cymbals you can get. If you play hardcore, grindcore, pop punk or alternative this is not the cymbal for you.

THE BEST CYMBAL

By DrumMan420

from Derwood, MD

This cymbal will not disappoint you. This cymbal is a great mixture of warmth, stick definition, and a nice, and i mean a REALLY nice bell. Whatever kind of music you play, from hardcore metal to light country, this cymbal will be your best friend on your set. And, for only a $239 price, you get ALOT more than what you pay for. I would recommend this cymbal to everyone who plays drums.

Amazing

By nobody

from Tucson, Arizona

This ride cymbal has to be the best ride out there.(depending on what you play) The bell on this is the best bell i've ever heard, it penetrates through anything. The ride itself has amazing stick definition and the right amount of ping. I have bought and taken back 2 other rides before this, the zildjian k custom dry ride, a zildjian a sweet ride, and then I looked into getting a paragon ride and then I heard this, The raw bell dry ride was perfect, it had the perfect blend that could be played in anything from rock to metal, This cymbal is also good in the aspect that it is versatile if it's your first ride and you'll be practicing jazz and/or blues on it. I would definately buy this ride again if anything happened to it.

Best Ride Ever!!!

By handkr@netzero.comj

from N.J

This ride is just amazing! The bell is powerful and cuts through any kind of music you're playing in a band. The ride itself is great. The ping is loud and has a good sound to it. It dosen't have a long sustain, or a short one, right in the middle! The price is not to high or low either, its worth the price! Buy this ride, it will make your dreams come true.

Amazing

By Keenan

from livonia michigan

I have had this cymbal for about 6 months, and it's amazing. It is by far the best ride i've ever played on. It is great for heavier stuff mainly, but I have also used it for pop/punk type music, and it's good for that too. Also, it has a great bell.

Perfect ride

By stevo30

from montreal, QC

I was hearing all these comments about the HH verasion of this cymbal, but the warmer nature of it turned me away. Then Sabian came out with the AA version. I wanted a ride with bright ping yet warmer overtones, and the RBDR delivers. Its not overpowering at all, yet it has no trouble being heard. And what really floors me is the versatility. The bell cuts through amazingly, the bow is pingy, yeat not clangy, and the edge can be very subtly and very shimmery.
