This cymbal has a very unique sound. It is very bright and agressive, great for on stage performance. It has a quick decay and a medium-short sustain. It gives a quick, clean burst of energy to your music when you need it. It is loud enough to counter any sound thrown against it. The model is pretty thin, so I would recommend buying a warranty with it. If you need a loud, bright cymbal, then this is the one for you.
I've had this cymbals for years and it still sounds great. Really bright and energetic.
I have owned this in the 16" size for quite a few years and it has performed very well! It has enough weight to cut through fairly loud rock music without overplaying it and has a nice well-balanced sound. With my jazz and blues rock groups it works well as a light ride too. It has a nice full sound with a medium decay.
I recently bought the 18 inch crash and it is AWESOME! if you are considering getting a new crash, go with the AA medium thin crash. this cyymbal has a nice bright sustain cuts and has a nice vintage sound to it. although, it is a little expensive, it is completely worth every cent, i love this cymbal!!!!
I own the 20-inch medium thin crash. I couldnۡt agree more with some of the positive reviews Iۡve read about this cymbal. This is definitely a versatile crash cymbal that can be used for many genres. The crash sounds great at low & high volumes, but the sound isnۡt over powering like some heavier/big crashes can be. The cymbal overall is a bright crash, yet it has a nice warm shimmering sustain, especially when played at low to moderate volumes. And when played more aggressively, the cymbal will ۡ̏cutۡݕ_ throughۡ_again, highly versatile crash. This cymbal is also great for a crash ride, it responds wonderfully, which I would expect from a large crash. Iۡm a fan of the SABIAN AA sound, which I find musical & versatile. I enjoy playing the ۡ̏vintage brightۡݕ_ as oppose to the faster ۡ̏auto-focusۡݕ_ response of the modern AAXۡ_not to say the AAX arenۡt great cymbals. I feel as the musician/drummer that I control the sound more with the AA. And Iۡm referring to the ۡ̏sound characterۡݕ_ as well as the volume level. Obviously the more aggressive the playing the more response youۡll get out of a cymbal. I would also say Iۡm partial to a thin crash cymbal. I feel they respond more with less overtones & midrange, and yet they still have volume when I need it. As far as durability goes, Iۡve been playing SABIAN for years and I never broke a cymbal. And yes, I have played aggressively. Now with everything Iۡve stated, its all opinion & preferenceۡ_every drummerۡs playing style & ۡ̏earۡݕ_ is different.
I purchased this cymbal as a crash/ride for my kit. Absoluetly love it, nice almost dark tone with a great washed out ride with a hard hit. Cuts incredibly well compared to similar priced medium thin cymbals. It will leave your ears ringing. The bell and mid section have a excellent tone as well. The price is a bit steep, but well worth it for stage performers. PS not great for a recording booth, way too loud on the nady mics we use.
This crash cymbal is just beautiful - I love it to death. It's really has a great attack and sustain to it and the explosive crash sound it has is just brilliant - Of course I'm a relatively new player (7 months) and it's the only crash I've ever owned and really used - I love it, It definitely has much more tone and attack than my Pulse stock crash - Which I've never really used because I've had this since I first got my kit - I'm a young player so once I have an income I'll definitely have to experiment with many cymbals to find my perfect sound - But it's very possible this is it - Love it
I recently bought the 18" crash in an emergency right before one of my shows.... i am deaf now. it rocked my socks, and is perhaps one of the best cymbals i have ever invested my money in. this cymbal is the perfect cymbal if you play metal music. it will blow your head off.
The sabian AA cymbals are great. I own the 21 in. rock ride and the 18 in. medium thin crash and they both sound awesome. The 18 in. crash gives a loud, dark sound when you hit it. They are pretty expensive but they are worth it.They add a great sound to my set.
This Sabian Med Thin AA crash is one of 5 currently on my drum kit. It's my favorite one! I own a 15in and love it to death. The sound achieved with this cymbal is explosive with good sustain and a deeper sound than most of my other crashes. Great for Rock/Metal music. Great product Sabian!
