First let me say, these cymbals are surpisingly good for the price. The hi hats don't sound as toy-ish as most lower level cymbals do, and the crash has a nice brightness to it. Both are a little higher-pitched than average, but not annoyingly so, and the 16" crash has a very versatile, appropriate decay time. However, I still feel that the XS20 line as a whole is a little awkward. At what point do you need these cymbals? If you're buying cymbals for the first time, go with B8's, not B8 pro, just regular B8's. They're just a hair lower in quality, but then you'll have more cash to upgrade sooner with. If you already have a starter pack and are looking to upgrade, then commit to it and buy AA, AAX, HH, HHX, or Vault. The increase in quality from a lower line to these cymbals is not worth the money. These cymbals are solid, and would be good for a school or church kit, but, for your own setup, follow my advice.
