  • O poop...

As reviewed by Eric Peraza on 12/29/2011

Got these cymbals for Christmas and pulled them out of the box. They are packaged strangely and the way they are packaged cracked the splash cymbal. But that doesn't really matter for me since I won't use it. The cymbals sound absolutely amazing though and I'm already in love with them. The ride has a lot of stick definition and a very cutting bell that I love. The hats are kinda sizzly and sound very high quality. I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the cracked splash.

  • Tremendous price, value and sound!

As reviewed by George Noriega on 1/16/2012

Sabian Xs20 cymbals are the company's intermediate line, but these cymbals sound nothing like what you would probably imagine intermediate cymbals sound like. The crashes are timbre-matched, so they sound great from 14" to 16" to 18", although the 14" sounds a TAD bit on the bright side. Nothing major though. The 14" hi-hats are unbelievable; I had read some reviews that harped on the fact that they hated the "chick" that the hi-hats produced, but I have no issue with them at all. If there was any one cymbal that gave me a bit of a problem it was the ride, which other reviewers have commented on. I used to use Ahead sticks, and with those sticks the ride was an absolute mess, with horrible wash and sustain that wouldn't improve no matter where I hit it. I switched to Vic Firth American Classic sticks with wooden beads, and the difference was like night and day. The ride is now much tighter with minimal wash, and the "ping" cuts right through the mix. Are they Paiste, or Neil Peart Paragons? No, but what they ARE is a great value with some very good sounding cymbals that should be more than adequate for the intermediate semi-pro drummer either in a studio or live setting.

  • Great Cymbals!

As reviewed by Tim Munsil on 9/2/2009

I bought these cymbals and they are great! Great price, great sound quality, and great look! Definitely a must buy for any drummer looking for great quality but not looking to pay outrageous prices.
