I've started out with Sabian B8s and replaced most with Paiste Alphas but then I decided I was ready to move on from the stiff cuts of metal. I bought the 18" crash and it has EXACTLY the sound I've been looking for. The stick literally sinks into it and produces such a rich, shimmering, warm and dark tone with enough power and sustainability to cut through all instruments, and it fits in with every genre on any occasion. In short, the HHX Evolution series was "naturally selected" by me.

This is probably the best crash cymbal i've ever used or heard in my entire life. Very Pricey, but well worth it if you play drums. Shimmery tone with a lot of dark trashiness as well. It seems to cut through the wall of guitars but not over-power it, just blend in extremely. This cymbal is also very dynamic, touch it gently for a small accent or touch it a bit harder for a full wash. Overall great cymbal!!!
