Great explosive ride!

The 18" is a great all-around cymbal. It has a fairly sweet ping with a quicker decay. This bell does not sound the same as the body, which is nice in different sound perspective, however it is fairly quiet. This cymbal is a GREAT alternative to big flashy, overpriced crash/rides. And living up to its other half, it is a great dark, explosive crash. I've beaten on this for 5 yrs and it is very well intact. Terrific first or addition cymbal!

Sabian B8 Series Crash Ride Cymbal

This cymbal is a great crash, but thats about it. Any attemp of me using it as a ride usually doesn't long because it overpowered everything else, as well as the sustain being too long. While that makes it a poor ride, it also makes it a good crash.

OK in a Pinch

An OK budget instrument, the B8 Crash Ride is nonetheless not without "issues". It's bright and reasonably well-defined, but as other reviewers have noted, it builds pretty quickly and gets rackety if you ride it away from the bell. Some have found this cymbal surprisingly loud, but I have found the effect has less to do with volume than with uncontrolled overtones--especially when crashed this cymbal has an overtone that SHRIEKS. The audience may not always pick it up, but the shrillness is not pleasant when the cymbal is only two feet from your ear. So basically, you get what you pay for--a serviceable, durable piece that won't embarrass you but that isn't likely to remain in your setup once you have a few more bucks to put toward cymbals.

Ride It Till You Crash

I got this cymbal in a set and have enjoyed it very much. You have to go pretty easy on it to play it as a ride, as the the tone carries on for a while. But this is a great crash with an explosive sound. I've had it for several months now and there's still no cracks, dents, dings or warping and it still sounds great. This will make a great addition to any set up.
