This is one of the ultimate beginners cymbal packs. These are great for general Rock & Roll, Punk or loud music. Excellent for that extra set of cymbals at a bagain price.
I got these about 2 weeks ago and like them very much. Sound is a little darker than i would like but if you are on a budget, they a very good. Crashes ring just a little too long but the hi-hat sounds great.
I am not a drummer... I was, but now I am a guitarist. I only have a gammon set, which only had one horrible sounding crash cymbal, and really bad hi-hats. I desperately needed an upgrade! I got a lot of guitar center giftcards for x-mas, and was going shopping for drum stuff because I just recently got back into drumming. I bought a used double bass pedal, and new drum heads. I still had some money left over so I decided I would get cymbals and stands. I got three SP straight stands along with this cymbal pack, which was on clearance for $240. The ride has a very nice ping kind of sound, and the crashes give a good crash with some sustain, and the hi hats can be very tight sounding or can have a good ping sound when hit open. Overall this cymbal set is an amazing set, and I'm glad I got these rather than getting the Zildjian ZBT's beacuse I listened to the Zildjians, and they sound like crap... So if you are looking for a good set of cymbals for an inexpensive price, go with Sabian B8 for sure!
