  • Great for beginners

As reviewed by Michael Priest on 6/7/2010

The B8 series as a whole is great for beginners, but when you decide to get serious and start playing with a band, you will want better cymbals. The hi-hats are a little too clangy for my taste. The ride doesn't do too well with cymbal rolls. These cymbals are very durable and you can't beat the quality for the same price. If you're just getting into playing set, go ahead and buy them. When you're ready to upgrade your cymbals, just sell these with your beginner kit.

  • Good Value

As reviewed by Matthew on 5/14/2010

For the money you can't beat the feel and sound of these cymbals. A comparable Zildjian ZBT series doesn't compare to these. The crash ride has a nice crash sound with a not so great "ping" sounding ride attribute. The hi-hats are standard, nothing special, with an ok attack and heavy sounding ring when played loosely. Good for all styles of music.

  • beginner cymbals

As reviewed by bob on 6/18/2010

The b8 are sabians beginner/entry level cymbals above their sbr brass line. IF you can save up for a more mid level cymbal that will last you longer, such as the xs20, you may be happy with the b8's now but you will learn that they don't sound that good in comparrison, and won't last when you get better. If your on a budget, at least try for the b8 pro
