The Sabian AA Metal-X Crash Cymbal has a solid response that's fast and bright for maximum penetrating power in even the loudest music.
I recently bought the 19" version, and I have not heard a louder crash. As I stated in the title, it's really a small ride that's very crashable. Makes a perfect thrash ride. Do some fast double bass and pump the edge of this sucker and you won't need a mic.

I use a 20 Inch as my "main deal". It lasted about 8 months as a crash/ride. The bell is unmatched imho by other crashes- as good a K custom ride's bell...Crash sound is heavy and big with a decently lengthy decay...good ping sound when hit with bead of stick- nylon tips help. Some interesting overtones-open and bright with a metallic sort of ring...but darkness as well. Overall My favorite one yet- I used a Meinl 22 Inch heavy ride - bell was a bit too integrated. Check out the band Underoath on that one- the drummer basically crashes the crap out of everything- which I happen to do as well for the most part- This sabian gets it done- sounds great recorded- and Sabian's one year no questions asked warranty will afford me a new one anytime now...go for it great price, durability, sound, bell, crash. hooray check out myspace.com/followinghereafter to hear it in some of our recordings By the pathways is a good one for the bell and for crashing.

I love my Sabian AA Metal-X Cymbals I have 16" and 19" crashes and the 19" (which i have had for almost 2 years) stands up the hard hitting and is perfect for riding on a crash. The 16" crash is great to use on accents. I also have other AA Metal-X models that all sound great, and though they are a little pricy I dont think you will be disappointed.

This cymbal can cut through any amount of noise! I play the 18", and it is LOUD, but not muffled. Still very clear, and responsive. I am very proud to own this cymbal, I believe I am in love with it. Goes well with my 24" Paiste 2002 Ride.

I wanted a heavier crash to crash-ride on, and this one fits the bill perfectly. Sabian really got this one right. Its a heavy, bright, and powerful crash, yet it opens up way easier than comparable cymbals (ie, Z Customs, AAX Metal). I also use it as a light ride, and it has a nice bright shimmer. Recommended for anybody looking for some extra "meat" for their set-up
