Add show to your style

I purchased this book and DVD intending to learn enough drumstick-twirling technique to be able to assist local high school students in implementing some showmanship into their marching percussion. The DVD, in particular, is extremely helpful to anyone who has never had any coaching in twirling, like me, and yearns to incorporate fancy stick-work into their playing. Drummer Steve Stockmal, clearly solid in his technique, is a pleasant guide through the different processes, each of which is demonstrated in context and in slow-motion isolation. The book is really sort of an appendix going along with the more essential DVD, although the book does contain some useful ideas for combinations of twirling patterns. If you're interested in drumstick-spinning, this is THE resource for you!
