I recently bought this SKB to replace a Roadrunner case (which after 2 years of light use was literally falling apart). Based on reviews I read here and elsewhere, the SKB is a better investment for me and my Yamaha MOX8. I guess time will tell how well this one holds up, but for now, it seems sturdy for a softside, and light enough for my back! I especially appreciate the tie down straps inside for my keyboard, the attention to structural support in the design, and large storage pockets on the outside. It would be a nice touch to have a reinforced handle in the middle, where the carry straps meet. From my past experience with the RoadRunner, that is where the fabric/zipper and seams are most stressed.
I bought this case to carry my Yamaha PF-35 88-key digital piano and it has received light use over the last 9 months. Two of the zipper pulls have broken. One of the strap rings has ripped from the fabric on the back of the case. The handles do not provide an easy way to carry it. The case is heavy for the amount of protection it provides. The only good things about the case are that the wheels have held up and the plastic skid plate helps protect the case when loading or unloading from a vehicle. I found that my PF-35 fits just fine in an old cheaper padded case intended for 76-key keyboards. That is what I am using to carry my digital piano.
This case holds and protects my 88 key electronic piano securely, fits in my small car, is soft, and has wheels. I couldn't ask for anything more.
