I bought this case to transport 3 27" plasma screens to a trade show. The 3 screens- disassembled and in their boxes- was the exact dimensions-width wise as the amp it was made to fit. I shrink wrapped them together as one cube and strapped them in... The case was of course abused by TSA on the flight but the screens made it fine there and back..case is still in perfect condition--i had my doubts when it came slamming off the belt onto the luggage claim...it was supposed to be in large cargo as it was on the flight there. Rolled thru NYC streets just fine too!
I bought one of these on the suggestion of a salesperson at my local store, and I am disappointed. I have a Mesa Boogie Lonestar Special 2x12, and this behemoth is several inches too big for it on all sides - in fact, it would even be oversize for a Fender Super Reverb 4x10. There is no padding inside the case, you simply have to rely on the strap that accompanies the case to keep your amp from rocking back and forth. As such, I'm not comfortable doing any serious traveling with it. While this does look extremely tough from the outside and seems very well made, the inside gives me pause. This would be perfect for a stationary amp where projectiles or falling objects are an issue, wherever that may be.
