If you're someone with a fair sized sound system, chances are you need a case like this for your microphones. I will say that the design of this case is better suited to the kind of microphones used for live pro sound with the shape of the foam insert cutouts built for SM57/SM58 type microphones best. That probably relates to what most people use for live sound anyway. The case also supports many of my older AKG mics to the likes of a D-310, a few D-1000Es, and a pair my C-3000s fitting into the supplied foam insert. I was able to stuff a Sennheiser MD 421 into the cutouts with a modest amount of protrusion. Same said for a Sennheiser MD 431, a common shape for hand held Sennheiser vocal mics. But if you're hoping to store an AKG D-112 or an older D-12, that may take some work. I also have reservations about using this case for small diaphragm condenser mics with them being too small for the insert cutouts. However, there is an upper storage compartment with about 3 1/2 inches of clearance that will allow for additional space for microphones, provided you were supplied with a good case that fits by the manufacture when you bought that mic in the first place. Most mics sold these days come in a cardboard box. Now my old D-12 has a nice case that would fit in the upper compartment, but that things rarely leaves the house. My thought is at some point I will have a custom foam insert cut for the upper compartment fit to size for a D-112 and a set of C-535s. Otherwise, this is a great case!
Great Case. Holds a lot, travels well, and comes with lifetime guarantee with no questions asked.
This case is very durable. We have been gigging with this case for two years and constant moving and banging around the back or the van and the case has protected the mics and has held up to our unintentional abuses. It also makes my life easier as it stores the mics, the cables and some misc stuff that I find myself always hunting for.Have faith that it will do its job.
Case is sturdy with plenty of space for all of my mic cable
