I have been very pleased with these cases. They are by far the best I have ever seen or used. My only tiny issue is how the inner padding can get pealed off if the drum snags it on the way in. My advice is to just be careful when putting your drums inside the case, so as to not tear off the padding.
I finally did it. A brand new kit and brand new cases. My new kit is right now staring at me unplayed, unsoiled by drumstick manure and is in a nice neat stack of SKB Roto-X cases. These cases are every bit as trick as my new kit. They stack super snugly (if that's a word)and the lids shut with a feel of perfect fit and high quality. I love these cases. They come with a quality lining that protects the drum very nicely and looks like it would last for a long time. I've got a gig set and bought SKB's to house a nice custom drum set. I bought SKB because it's the best case with the best liner and the best garantee. I bought 8 different cases.
I have been very happy with my SKB drum cases. Maximum protection, convenient stackability. One thing though, ... The side handles on the Bass Drum Case should be turned 45 degrees so 2 people can pick it up more easily from the ground. Turnable handles? Design flaw? Anyone else find this to be inconvenient? Overall, great product with great warranty.
The Pearl Drums with *newer* optimounts; however, they fit nicely. Sonor SQ2: Good, but the bass drum will appreciate some extra depths. I don't know why GC does not list one in here but there is a 14x8 case, as well.
After a recent purchase of my own set of SKB Roto cases I feel like they are the industry standard. Tough, durable on the outside and soft and well padded on the inside. Excellent protection for your individual drum or a complete set. These cases have both the protection qualities needed and a handsome exterior. They are very gentle on your drums finishes in addition to keeping them from catastophic impact. I would recommend these to any drummer.
Just bought one of these for my snare. I wanted to protect it and this is the best thing out there plus it has a lifetime warranty so you can't go wrong you drums are 100 percent protected
If you have a nice drumset and want to protect it, then SKB cases are the ones to buy. They are very well made and come with a lifetime warranty. They are more expensive then gig bags but at the same time they actually protect your drums from more than just some scratches and the elements.
SKB cases are by far the best cases out there for drums, hands down. If you don't use SKB, sell whatever you have and buy these! They have lifetime warranties. The hard shell outside with the padded inside is an unmatched combination! Get your hands on these cases today! Amazing for touring.
I bought these cases for my Gretsch Kit. We were loading out from a gig one night. One of the band members took my bass drum to the van. He lost his balance and the drum fell down 4 or 5 steps and hit the ground hard. I knew the drum was seriously damaged. It did not have a scratch on it. It was perfect. Buy these cases and have peace of mind.
Sure, you're paying more than gig bags for your drums but there's nothing like that feeling of knowing your expensive equipment is safe! I rely on these cases to protect my priceless (and I mean priceless-Arbiter Drums!) drums.
