I've had my case for the past six years, and it's been to countless gigs and jam sessions, and has travelled to Oregon and Washington many times. The only thing I would change (and the only reason I'm giving it four stars, rather than five) about the design, if it were possible, would be to add a litle more storage compartment space. The compartment in this case is very small, compared to that of your typical (conventional) wood cases. Other than that, I love the case, and it's done a fine job of protecting my Alvarez!

Great case that has very few problems.

Comments about SKB Economy Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Case:

First of all you must know that this case is designed to fit a wide array of dreadnoughts. I have a Seagull Maritime SWS Creme Brulee CW GT QI. Anyway, Seagulls are just a touch smaller than a standard Dreadnought and this case is a bit "roomy" with the guitar in it. A rag at either end of the guitar can minimize this. It fits fine otherwise and I believe the fit is about as close as you are going to get for a Seagull. At least I think so. It's a very well made case and seems to be plenty tough for my needs. It also seems to seal well for humidification purposes. The storage compartment is a bit small but my guitar has a cutaway and I coil my strap and put it there. There's enough room for strings and picks and a few small items. The 4 stars are because the case is a bit hard to close. You must push the top at the headstock end back a little to get it to close properly. It's not that big of a deal, just a little annoying. Other than that it's a five star case.

    Great Acoustic Guitar Case...

    By Ron Dibuccio

Comments about SKB Economy Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Case:

SKB set the standard when it comes to instrument cases. The green interior is super nice and soft. The case is very sturdy and well built. I like the hard plastic exterior and the aluminmum rim around the whole case. I purchased this case for my Taylor 410 Dreadnought and it fits like a glove. I tried my Martin HD-28 in it as well but it needed the rolled up sock treatment stuffed between the upper bout and neck pocket of the case. That worked like a charm. I A-B it against my Martin case and it's close to the same quality for less than 1/2 the cost. This is my 2nd SKB Acoustic Guitar Case and about my 10th product from SKB. All of my SKB cases have held up remarkably well for my weekend gigging career. It easily passes my test for the safety of my guitars...

    Awesome case for the price!

Comments about SKB Economy Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Case:

I had been shopping around for a worthy case for a dreadnaught guitar I am in the process of building. I visited a variety of websites and shopped a few stores, continually referring back to this case. I like it's hard she;ll construction, tghe cozy, soft, well-padded interior, and the lack of any large logo emblazened across the face!. I looked at the Fender SKB, but I didn't feel I should also have to advertise for Fender Guitars. If I were carrying a Fender, certainly! SO for less than the Fender and less than an out of stock Musician's Gear, I chose this, and my new guitar fits well, and once complete, will travel safely to many jams, house parties, and other occasions needing my guitar.

    Veddy Naaaaaaaaace!

    By brad konick

Comments about SKB Economy Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Case:

I recently purchased this SKB hard-shell case for my Ibanez Acoustic/Electric (AW-300ECE). This was my first time travelling with it by plane and I wanted something durable to protect it, as well as being well crafted. After returning from a round trip visit to Seattle, I can safely say that both the guitar and case made it with flying colors. Other than the expected superficial scratches, there was no damage to either piece. As others have reviewed, because it is a universal dreadnought case, it most likely will not fit every guitar as snugly as desired. To make a more snug fit for air travel, I simply wrapped the headstock with a handtowel, and stuffed the sides with old pillowcases, as well as covering the soundhole/bridge area for extra padding. Maybe not the most aestethically pleasing solution, but it worked great. Speaking of aesthetics....at first the rich velvety-green lining was slighlty off-putting for my tastes. That said, when I placed my dark violin-finished guitar inside, they looked terrific together - very complementary colors! The chrome-plated metal latches work well, though you have to be a little patient in ensuring that the proper latch connection is made. (NOTE: These are not the larger TSA-approved latches, they are in the more expensive model). Overall, an excellent guitar case which is well made and lightweight. Recommended!

The sturdiest case you can buy

    By Jonah Udall

    from Berkeley, CA

Comments about SKB Economy Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Case:

Last weekend I left my guitar leaning against my friend's car. Unknowingly, he backed over it, crushing the case with both sets of wheels. When I opened the broken case, the guitar was completely unharmed. Until then I had occasionally complained about the weight of the case (although it doesn't weigh any more than most hard cases) and the hard plastic handle, this thing is the best and cheapest insurance for your instrument you can imagine. It also lasts an incredibly long time. In the seven years I have owned and abused this case, all of the latches and the handle are still intact and functional.

    will last a lifetime

    By Scott D. Zuccone

    from Mt. Angel, OR

Comments about SKB Economy Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Case:

I rate this case 5 stars because it can take a little manhandling w/out any tears in the outer material like the wood covered cases eventually get. It also seals out a little rain better than those wood covered cases. This is a nice feature since I live near Portland,Or. Also, it has enough storage for a pack of strings, string twister, pitch pipe, 9volt batt., string cutters, a tin of picks, a capo, and my strap. If you own a quality dreadnought and want quality protection this is a case to look into watson.
