Didnt work for Korg Kronos 73

About Me Experienced

Pros

  • Good Protection
  • Sturdy Case

Cons

  • Not Functional
  • Too big
  • Too Heavy

Best Uses

  • Travel

Comments about 1SKB-R5220W Roto Molded 76-Note Keyboard Case:

Purchased this for a Kronos X73. The case was not quite high enough to fit the Kronos, it bowed out a bit. While it does have casters (which helps only if you have a flat surface without stairs), there is only one handle, and no strap. The Kronos weighs about 45lbs. When you add the weight of the case, it was way too heavy to carry. Overall, I just thought it was far too bulky to be a practical solution. It might be OK for a lightweight keyboard under 30lbs...

Great Case

Comments about 1SKB-R5220W Roto Molded 76-Note Keyboard Case:

I needed a case that was somewhere between a gig bag and a flight case. This fits the bill. I don't tour and I handle my own gear. It protects my keyboard during loading, transport, and handling. That's all I need it to do.

Older skb case is better

By Andy Gonzales

Comments about 1SKB-R5220W Roto Molded 76-Note Keyboard Case:

I have an old SKB Keyboard that I bought 10 years ago and I love It. I just bought a new all plastic case two months ago and one wheel already broke off and the inside plastic holders that hold the keyboard in place are broken already.I think plastic case is a mistake.

Disappointing for SKB

By jeff

from Columbia SC

Comments about 1SKB-R5220W Roto Molded 76-Note Keyboard Case:

I have used SKB for a long time and been around the world with their cases. But this one is pretty lame in features as they tried to create a low budget one-size fits alot of models. The thin shells actually bends inward ALOT depending on how it lays against other things. The inside padding is very sparse on top of that making you wonder how safe your board really is in there. And because of the one-size construction it makes the case unecesarily big.

Interesting medium-duty case

By The Pro-gmqnT

Comments about 1SKB-R5220W Roto Molded 76-Note Keyboard Case:

Hard to decide if I like this case or not. Interesting features: latches are different but appear to be good, velcro/corner cleat system for holding keyboards is clever, the case seems sturdy but not as sturdy as a standard SKB cases. None the less the case is stronger than a softcase and is probably indestructable. The plastic is much thinner and lighter than regular SKB's but it holds the keyboard securely. This case does not close as securely as regular SKG's but will likely protect against moderate rain. Wheels seem sturdy. The Roto-Molded SKB case is somewhere between a standard SKB case and a softcase - it's a good value considering the price but it's a little flimsier than you might expect. I wouldn't stack other gear on top of it but for local gigging it'll probably do just fine.
