I ordered two of these OOO cases for an upcoming trip. I'm shipping one guitar Fed-Ex, and carrying the other on my flight. I was disappointed at how flimsy the lower bout of the case is. You can depress the case in the middle of the lower bout up to an inch without much pressure at all. I compared this to my TKL arch-top/arch-back cases and I can't depress the case even with a large amount of pressure. I don't trust the SKB case to protect the top and back of my guitar from crushing in the event that Fed-Ex stacks a heavy box on mine, nor would I trust this case in the hands of the airlines. If I can carry on and stow overhead, this case would be fine, but I'm not going to chance it. Another thing I don't like about this SKB case is that it won't stay in the open position. You have to carefully hold the lid open, steady it, and carefully let go in order to make it stay open. With any of my other guitar cases (I have a bunch), you just open the lid and let go an it stays open. Sorry SKB, but I'm going to have to return these cases. Also, I agree with some other posters that the accessory compartment is way too small. Too bad. I don't recommend this case.
this is the second SKB case that i have purchased, and theres a good reason for it! the first was for my ec 1000 and this one is for Betty Lou, a g5120 electromatic gretch walnut. The case was not really made for this guitar and there are some spaces that need to be adressed, but thats ok because the first case i had for it was a ROAD RUNNER and after getting it home and realizing that my guitar was cocked to one side, i road ran right back to GC and got a case i know i can depend on. this is really one sturdy case! and with the price you pay for a nice guitar, whats a few more bucks to keep it safe, By the way BETTY LOU is what i named her it,s not the model of the guitar! just keeping another one of my baby,s safe. this case will do just that! the locks the pading are all top notch! HOPE this was some help!
I really like this case. It is of hard plastic and much lighter than the wooden ones. I think it will stay looking nicer longer because the material can?t scuff or peal like the other cases can. Also the one I got was the 000 size and it fits my Blue Ridge folk guitar absolutely perfectly, like a good glove. It has a tapered back and the padding is thick and holds the guitar with no slop. The price was good the quality was really top notch and I love the beautiful lush green lining.
Great guitar case. Exceptional price and best yet it is TSA approved. SKB warranty can not be beat.
Great case. Only reason it is not a 5 star is because the accessory compartment is really small. Can't fit my "onboard" tuner it it. Lightweight, great latches and fits a couple of my guitars. Fits a Gibson L00 guitar very nicely. I use it to protect the L00 clone that I built.
The SKB000 case is very well contructed and at a good price for the quality. I highly recomend it.
