The shaped archtop SKB-61 deluxe guitar case fits a double-horned guitar with built-in bumpers to protect the valance and latches. The latches are reinforced with back plates and won't move. The hardshell case features protective bumpers, full-length neck support, and rigid EPS foam interior (the same quality as found in bicycle helmets) to prevent the instrument from moving.

  • better case than many

    Just purchased this case to protect my '61 SG. It seems like a good solid case with good clasps and a good lock with real keys, not those cheap suitcase keys. Yes, it does have an odor, but what can you expect from Industrial plastics? I would recomend this case to any SG owner.

  • Great Case for a Gibson SG

    Just bought the SG a week ago, and it came with a Gigbag. I needed a good, supportive case that did a good job holding the guitar firm inside without wobbling around. I found a problem with the Roadrunner case they sold, very much like the old SKB cases sold some 5 years ago, but lacking any foam in the lid area. It fully supported the neck and headstock as I needed it to, but it didn't hold the guitar well once inside the case and closed. It wiggled around. Returned that case promptly and was told "the only difference in these two is the TSA latches". Bullshit! The SKB case is built to hold the guitar inside as well as full support for the neck and headstock. Plenty of upper lid support. Latched it up and closed it and absolutely no problems here. The Price? OK. You do get what you pay for and the SKB is worth every penny. The odor problem seems to have been eliminated. This new case has no funky glue smell. Highly recommended for those Gibson SG's that come with the Gigbag and you want a hardshell/molded case.

    SKB Hard Case Products are fully warranted against defects in materials and craftsmanship for the life of the case to the original owner. (Direct Quote from SKB web site.) Case construction, form and fit well worth the money. Had a SG SKB model case, developed cracks in the outer shell after 3yrs of normal use. Returned the case to SKB for 13 dollars shipping, received a new updated case version replacement.
