The SKB-56 Deluxe LP-Style case is well-made: solid construction; lightweight. Definitely protects the guitar; but I would also agree with other reviewers who found its LP shaped foam-core interior to be extremely TIGHT. For my custom LP, it is tight in all directions around the body - horizontally and vertically (depth). I carefully worked the instrument into the interior and shut the case the first time with some effort -- since top and bottom did not meet / match-up, leaving about a 1/4-inch opening. So I had to apply some pressure and the case closed / latched. After a few days of being in the case, the guitar can be removed and reset into the case with much less effort, but the case still needs a little pressure to close. I was tempted to return it at first, but I don't think the nominal amount of pressure applied / transferred from the case to the instrument will cause any harm. So - like I said: Excellent; Solid; TIGHT!
i got this case with a les paul about 5-6 months ago and let me just say that is very sturdy and if your looking for a nice hard case this is your case. inside it is very tight soft so guitar does not get all banged up.AWSOME CASE!!!!!
I bought one of these a couple years ago for my son's Epiphone Les Paul. Some how,& I don't believe I've gotten the real story, he broke the shell of the case in several places. I sent it back to SKB & they replaced it with one of these with the new style latches,no questions asked. All I had to pay was shipping to their facility. So in short, great, sturdy case from a company that stands behind their warranty.
