This is by far my favorite guitar case. I purchased this case so I could take my guitar to Florida. I checked my guitar and no one was careful with it at all. It arrived to Florida and back flawlessly. This is the best case out there. If you need something that will last, and that you won't have to worry about your instrument in then this is the case for you.
I've thought about buying this case for more than a year, but hesitated thinking it too expensive. I took the plunge and feel it is worth the bucks. I have a Taylor 710ce, and had NOT been happy with how my case fared getting lugged in and out of my station wagon and through airports for gigs. The stitching is seriously worn, and one of the clasps is broken.
I'm not such a spring chicken any more and like the wheeled option. I definitely will feel safe using this for air travel, especially with the guarantee
Things I especially like - the clasps open and close very smoothly, and do NOT stick out much when open. The indentation for the handle means that the chances of it getting banged up are reduced. The seal seems like a great one, especially for controlling humidity.
The inside contains lots of of foam, an especially nice component for stuff that gets tossed around. However, the accessories case is not as nice or as large as my Taylor case and the internal "velvet" fabric seems a bit thinner. Still, these are minor inconveniences - hence my 4 star review.
I travel four days a week with one of my 12 string acoustics in tow. The airlines have destroyed several of the standard skb cases but have not been able to do more than cosmetic damage to this one. It is much heavier but you need that extra protection. The built in wheels and handle let you get around easily.
Padding inside is first rate holding my guitars firmly while still allowing enough room to adjust to subtle differences in body shapes. Only part that does't seem extra sturdy is the compartment lid inside which is trivial and will not impact the safety of my guitars.
Put this beast side by side with other cases and pick them up and yo will see and feel the substantial improvements. It costs a bunch more but it's a bargain when compared with the loss or damage to your favorite (and expensive) instrument. Only gripe I have is that our area Guitar Centers don't carry them in stock. Good news is that GS has easy shipping and a great return policy.
