The SKB 1SKB-SC44 fits right-handed electric bass guitars and offers the superior protection of the very same rigid foam inserts found in SKB's hardshell guitar case line, but with the style and portability of a softshell gigbag or packpack case.

All SKB soft bass cases feature a rugged, weather-resistant, 600-denier ballistic nylon exterior with a hard-core EPS foam interior to provide more substantial protection than a conventional gig bag.

The SKB 1SKB-SC44's exterior features two zippered pouches, one with numerous internal compartments for organized accessory storage, and an adjustable padded backpack strap for easy transport. The hard foam interiors are plush-lined and offer full-neck support to cradle the guitar neck more securely than a conventional bag. The SKB bass guitar case also has 3 rubber feet for standing your bagged instrument on it's side without worrying about it tipping over.

  • SKB Rectangular Bass Case - An Honest Review

    I ordered this case (1SKB-SC44) as an alternative to the molded hardshell case made by SKB (1SKB-44) for my Fender bass guitars. I found it to be EXTREMELY well suited to carry my basses... both my Fender Precision and my Fender Jazz. They fit like a glove in the shaped padded foam form which prevents any shifting or sliding like those cases that just have the large rectangular space for the guitar body. The plush interior is very nicely done and there is adequate room for some accessories (pocket tuner, cable, microfiber cloth, etc.) The exterior is covered in a heavy backpack-like woven fabric that replaces the usual hardshell covering, making this one MUCH lighter than the comparable 1SKB-44 model. The zipper is very heavy-duty and opens from either end--a nice touch. Although I'd never use the backpack straps, I don't find them obtrusive or annoying--I just don't see my self strapping this thing on my back to carry it! The only thing I do not like is that there isn't a closed/partitioned "box" compartment to store stuff in, like many bass cases have under the neck. That would have been a nice touch to help keep small, thin items like picks from sliding about inside. I would give this a 4.5 out of 5, but since I can't give 1/2 star ratings, I've got to bump it down to a 4.
