The Marimbula is the original caribbean bass. Eight metal tongues are fastened in such a manner that they can be individually tuned on a scale from D-G.
Marimbula are tuned on an F-major pentatonic scale, and can be played by hand or with mallets. Using mallets yields clear, fresh high notes.
