True to the hype!!!

By Michael Comeaux

from Salem, Oregon

Just got them installed on my Ibanez GSR206 and am VERY happy!!! I had avoided Rotosound for the last 30 years of bass playing because I figured "they're old school, how can they be better than newer string designs?". These are the best sounding strings I've ever had! No point in mentioning other brands I've used through the years, because it's been all the main ones. Just never Rotosound. Until now. It will be Rotosound from now on. Amazing sustain. Ringing "piano" tones. Crisp undertones blending smoothly with overtones. I know my bass isn't top-shelf, but it does quite well. I bought it at the local GC in April 2012 and have played the heck out of it (3 to 5 hours a day, 7 days a week), but hadn't changed the strings from the ones that came with it. The ones it came with were wishy-washy in the tone department, and they faded real quickly. It was lacking in punch, and adjusting the knobs didn't have as much of an effect as one would hope. Not a big deal, since I need time to adjust from years playing a 24-fret 5-string for 6 years, to a 22-fret 6-string. The strings served their purpose, but were just dull sounding from the beginning. After re-stringing with the Rotosounds, all those problems disappeared and my bass now sounds like I want it to, and adjusting the knobs makes dramatic differences in tonal quality now. So, only two questions remain: What took me so long!? ...and... If you're in the market for some sweet strings, what are you waiting for!? GET some!

Great Bass Strings

By John Kevin Shackleford

from Navarre, FL

I have used these strings for years. I've played everything from backyard BBQ's to the Mobile Civic Center, and all the beaches between Destin FL to Mobile AL. These strings sound great, hold up even in the salty climate I expose them to, and last long enough to justify the few extra dollars you'll spend opposed to a few other brands. Also, if you've ever had trouble with the "B" strings of other brands not fitting into the bridge (like I did on my Warwick for instance) these strings will give you no problem with their tapered ends. Bottom Line: Great strings, at a great Guitar Center Price. You can't go wrong here.
