Lost track now, but I've used these strings for at least 25 years. If you know Rotosound, you know about their piano string sound. They sound clean, great sustain, great harmonics, tight and consistant...year after year. In the 70's I used RS66LD's and loved them. But for my small hands they were a little fat. So I tried RS66LB's and they blew me away. They gave me more of what I like in Rotosounds, especially the E string. It is much cleaner sounding than the E string from the RS66LD's. Also easier for me to play. You lose a tad (only a tad) of bottom from your bass guitar, but a slight tweak of the bass settings on my EQ fixed it forever. The bottom sound is cleaner with the lighter guage strings. Makes my bass guitar feel smaller, too (Rickenbacker 4005). It's possible to break them..hehe..and I've broken a couple G strings over the years. But it was more from me freaking out while playing than it was the fault of the string. They last a good, long time, especially is you wash your hands before you play. The strings on my bass right now are over a year old. They went a little dead, but I'm digging the sound for a while and keeping them on for recording. Sounds a little like flat wounds and still sound really clean. These are the only strings I ever use, but for the heck of it, I've tried other brands from time to time. Nothin' doin'...I switch them out right away and right back to the Rotosound RS66LB's.
One of 2 sets of strings that Cliff Burton used exclusively, you wanna bend and pull like Cliff these lighter strings are it!
