I wasn't needing or looking for a coated bass string, but I was interested in a new string to try. I was immediately knocked out by the strong and clear sound of Nexus bass. Right out of the pack Nexus sounds settled in, but not dull. If blindfolded I wouldn't be able to tell that they are coated in feel or sound -I really like that the coating isn't a factor in any way.The treble response when new is not glassy like some strings. Big, distinct notes and even tension.Great strings.
