The Roland VS-2480CD 24-Track Digital Studio with Built-In CD Burner gives you enough tracks to record a whole band. Whether you're just getting into hard disk recording or looking to upgrade an earlier V-Studio, here's a workstation worthy of the name. It offers 24-track/24-bit digital recording with 64-channel digital mixing, onboard effects processing, and CD burning. This revolutionary workstation also boasts 17 motorized faders, a VGA monitor output, plus mouse and ASCII keyboard inputs”taking the V-Studio concept to an entirely new level. Despite the incredible capabilities of the 2480, operations are surprisingly intuitive using the built-in display and software screens. And with its VGA output, your computer monitor becomes an extension of the DAW, offering total visual feedback of all your parameters.

I have recorded 7 CDs and over a thousand tracks on my VS2480 without as much as a hiccup from the machine. It is a wonderful piece of equipment and the tech support has been great too. I love this machine and think it is worth every dime I paid for it. Thank you Roland for getting it all right in one place.
If you are looking for an alternative to making music on a computer, but require extreme flexibility and excellent sound quality, look no further. Your ship has arrived with the Roland VS-2480CD/DVD. Featuring 24 mono tracks of recording, with selectable sampling rates up to 96K, there isn't anything this unit can't handle. Eight XLR mic inputs with individual phantom power, 16 1/4" inputs and all the digital ins and outs you could need make this machine extremely flexible for studio or live recording. I've owned this unit since 2002 and have had zero problems with it. Connecting a computer monitor, mouse and qwerty keyboard brings this machine into serious computer DAW territory. If you can fit it into your budget, you won't be disappointed!
I've had the VS 2480CD for 4 months now and use it for on location live band recordings and interviews for documentary. The sound recording is second to none and the Mastering Tool Kit pre set plug in's make the recordings absolutely professional...just ONE complaint!!! I thought that if I connected the additional 8 inputs using the R-Bus connection I'd have 24 simultaneous recording tracks which, Roland tells me is not true, I still have only 16 which kind of defeats the object of the additional 8!!!! All in all though a brilliant asset.
