Comments about Roland TRI-CAPTURE: USB Audio Interface:

So it took some setting up and digging around Roland's website to get the appropriate driver so that I could use this as my USB interface. Once I got it set up I took it for a test drive on Ableton Suite 9 by jamming with my bass guitar plugged directly into the Hi-Z port. The tone is nice and glassy, not too sharp on the high end but responsive and delivers a clear, punchy signal with almost no latency. I really like the idea of constraints so this will fit perfectly in my studio. Right now I am only tracking a dry guitar signal, a mono output from my GR-20, and a stereo mix of a TD-3 electronic drum kit. This thing is perfect for the solo instrumentalist / performer. I haven't researched the LOOPBACK function too much so I can't give any feedback on how well it sets up for synced online playback. Anyways, long story short, I've had interfaces ranging from mid-quality Focusrites, to cheap Presonus's & even an Apollo Twin at one point. This Tri-Capture is on par with any of those interfaces in terms of recording quality and is FAR more affordable than some of the better looking, sturdier interfaces. Would definitely recommend to anybody looking for a simple solution to their simple studio.

Wrong Software

By Ukulangley

About Me Experienced

Comments about Roland TRI-CAPTURE: USB Audio Interface:

In the product description it states that this interface comes with Cakewalk Sonar X1 LE software. When I received the product it included Ableton Live Lite. It CLEARLY states in the product description that Cakewalk is included. One of my primary reasons for purchasing this particular interface was the Cakewalk software, as I was going to purchase the upgrade to Sonar Artist for 29$ through Guitar Center.

I contacted Guitar Center.com who advised me to take it to my nearest GC representative. so, I drove 90 minutes to my nearest GC, only to have a representative tell me that there is nothing they can do, and ultimately directed the blame towards Roland.

I understand that Roland offers 2 versions, one with Ableton and one Cakewalk, however this product advertised on Guitar Center's website clearly states that this interface comes with the Cakewalk software. This is false advertisement.

GC did allow me to exchange the interface for a Presonus AudioBox with Studio One that will do the job, however this is not what I truly wanted for the $100+ investment.

Happy with my Tri-Capture

By Gregory

from San Antonio, Texas

Comments about Roland TRI-CAPTURE: USB Audio Interface:

This audio interface not only solved my "Noise" issues, but also allows me to record internet streaming. Had it set up in minutes. Using Audacity for my DAW. I'm so happy with this Audio Interface that I ordered me another one for my laptop. The Loop Back works perfectly. Guitar center shipped it to me and customer service was excellent.
