Overview

The Roland TD-25K electronic drum set is equipped with a sound engine derived from the flagship Roland TD-30 V-drums and delivers all the acclaimed expressiveness that makes Roland V-Drums the choice of pro players everywhere. A streamlined interface makes it easy to create personalized kits, while the built-in audio recording function lets you capture drum performances for evaluation and sharing. Other premium features include mesh-head pads for a natural feel, positional snare sensing for enhanced expression, and the VH-11 V-Hi-Hat for playing with authentic hi-hat techniques. Three cymbal pads are included.

Unrivaled Sound and Expressiveness
The TD-25K electronic kit delivers a superior drumming experience, thanks to Roland's SuperNATURAL technology with Behavior Modeling inherited from the flagship TD-30. The sound engine responds naturally and organically to your playing in every way, providing the dynamic, interactive feel that's essential for reaching the highest levels of musical expression. From rim shots, rolls, flams, and ghost notes on the snare to dramatic crash hits and sustained cymbal swells, every nuance is detailed, accurate, and ultra-smooth.

High-End Feel and Playability
When you sit down at Roland's TD-25K e-kit, you'll enjoy expressive playability that rivals high-end V-Drums sets. There's a full compliment of mesh-head pads for the legendary V-Drums feel, with positional sensing on the snare pad that provides subtle, organic tonal changes depending on where the pad is struck. The cymbals have a natural swinging motion and support chokes, bow/edge sounds on the crash, and bow/edge/bell sounds on the ride. Mounting on a standard hi-hat stand, the VH-11 V-Hi-Hat features open/closed motion and bow/edge sounds for executing traditional playing techniques to perfection. Last but not least is the KD-9 Kick Pad, which offers a natural-feel cloth head and rock-solid response.

Call Up Kits and Start Playing Immediately
With its no-nonsense interface, the TD-25K's sound module lets you enjoy playing great sounds for any music right away. Easy to grab while holding sticks, the large center dial allows you to quickly select kits based on music styles such as standard, rock, jazz, electronic, and others. After you've selected a style, press the dial to toggle between different kit variations. Next step? Start playing!

Customize Kits for Your Personal Style
The Roland TD-25K makes it simple to edit sounds to suit your playing touch or a specific style of music. Just hit a pad to call up the sound assigned to it, and then use the modulee's knobs to select instruments and tweak tuning, muffling, and levels. Handy shortcuts greatly speed up tom editing, allowing you to assign sounds and change the muffling and tuning for all the toms at once. Your changes are saved automatically as you edit, eliminating the need to fuss with extra steps. If you don't like your most recent tweaks, you can easily undo them and return to where the kit was at when you first selected it.

Play Along with Tracks and Record Audio Performances
Want a little jamming music to play along with? Just load up a USB memory stick with favorite WAV/MP3 songs and get lost in playing for hours. In addition to normal playback, you can loop sections you'd like to work on, or slow the playback speed to more easily learn fast fills and articulations. Alternately, you can plug a smartphone into the audio input and drum with songs from your music library or the web. It's also possible to record your drumming performances (along with music playback) as audio files to a USB memory stick, offering a great way to evaluate your playing and share your drumming with friends and music producers. The sound module is equipped with a USB host port as well, providing a convenient connection for recording audio and MIDI data directly into DAW software.

Kick pedal, hi-hat stand and drum throne are not included. Includes setup guide and drum key.

Lots of Missing Details.

Comments about Roland TD-25K V-Tour Drum Kit:

If I could, I'd give this kit a 3.75 out of 5. The kit is amazing and the sounds are, for the most part, great. The mesh heads are fantastic, although far too bouncy to give the feel of a real kit. I tuned mine way down and it still has too much bounce. This doesn't change the tone of the drum, just the feel. The problem I have with this is that it just makes transitioning to an acoustic kit harder because you don't have to work nearly as hard...this is not necessarily a bad thing. The main issue I have is in the little details. The design of the rack is odd. Mounting your cymbals is awkward if you don't want them set up EXACTLY like the pictures. You're pretty much stuck with that setup. I also bought a CY-8 after I bought the kit to have an extra crash cymbal. I bought the recommended Gibralter mounting hardware and it's metal vs the plastic mounting hardware that comes with the rack. To get it to hold, you have to tighten it to the point of denting the crossbar on the rack. This is a bummer. The worst oversight is the instructions. I've bought calculators with more instructions that this thing. The book is like 100 pages long but then you realize it's in 8 languages. The actual usable instructions are 14 pages long, including setup. There are so many things you can do with this module, I just cannot believe that they leave it to you to just figure it out. Customizing the pads and tuning them, even the cymbals, is a cool plus but there's little to nothing about this in the manual, or any of the other customization functions. There is also a 'Trigger Settings' option where you can adjust the response of the pads. The problem is, there are about 20 settings on each pad but the manual makes NO mention of what any of those settings do if adjusted one way or the other. The only thing it talks about is dialing in the high-hat, which is an awesome instrument by the way. Right now, I'm having an issue with the snare. If you strike it dead center, and I mean a dime sized bullseye, it is A LOT louder than the rest of the head. This is NOT how a real snare responds. I'd love to know how to fix this but there is no mention of it in the manual and the pad itself did not come with instructions, nor are there any on the Roland website. This is definitely hurting my experience with the product and the reason I am considering sending it back. I have 60 days since I purchased the extended plan. My experience with GC was great and the sales rep I had was great too.

Comments about Roland TD-25K V-Tour Drum Kit:

As a long-time acoustic drummer, I've always wanted an electronic drum set for the ability to play without bringing down the house (unless I want to!). This is the set of my dreams. The sound is amazing, exactly like any acoustic kit, plus tons of cool different sounds as well. Totally customizeable. The feel, too, is very playable and akin to my old acoustic set. Roland is top of the line in electric kits. Don't compromise, and you won't be disappointed!

Comments about Roland TD-25K V-Tour Drum Kit:

I bought this as a surprise gift for my fiance, and all he does is rave about it. He's been playing for years and only has great things to say about it:

It is the best in its tier of kits for sure. The module is super streamlined and easy to use with plenty of in depth options if you care to dig.

The time check and click warm ups are really cool for practicing, and the plug in for USB is really cool so it is really easy to set up backing tracks. Also the fact that you can record directly onto a backing track and then export to USB all in the module is really awesome.

The only thing I wish it had was the ability to manually set the rim trigger sounds, but that isn't super necessary.

I really like the expression you can get from the snare a lot.

Also, you can totally fit a double pedal on it contrary to what I've seen a lot of people say.
At least the iron cobra fits.
If you have square beaters I could see it not working maybe.

Comments about Roland TD-25K V-Tour Drum Kit:

I did a lot of research before I bought this drum set. I didn't want to buy an entry level drum set and I couldn't afford a professional set, so I believe it was a great choice for me.
This drum set was a little over my original budget but it was worth it.
This is a great drum set, great sounds and easy to configure. I use it mainly to practice without disturbing my family in my home studio.

Comments about Roland TD-25K V-Tour Drum Kit:

If I had the option of giving this product 2.5 stars, I would. Largely speaking it is a great piece of equipment with one fatal flaw.

There are numerous great features of this kit. The snare and tom pads have an impressively realistic feel. I enjoy that roland made the v drum heads tunable for desired feel.

The stock kits on the module sound good enough, you're sure to find sounds to get something you like. The module is very user friendly. Anyone could figure it out.

I'm not a fan of the 36 pin input for the triggers, I prefer instrument cable plug ins.

Now to the fatal flaw. Also the reason why I returned it. The kd9 kick pad can't take the metal foot work at all. It's far too unstable once your double bass exceeds 120bpm. The pad will tilt side to side horribly, losing inertia and momentum needed to play any faster. I intended to practice extreme metal on this kit, making this flaw inexcusable.

If you are a student, or play a genre with less intensive foot work then this kit is about perfect. For any metal guys, or 200bpm + style players, it's an absolute waste of time.

Comments about Roland TD-25K V-Tour Drum Kit:

I use this kit as my main practice set in my apartment. It's a ton of fun to play, and is wayyy better than any alternative I can think of (practice pads, pad kit) for relatively quite practice.

I just have one main complaint for such an expensive piece of hardware: playing the same drum in quick succession at the same dynamic level yields very obvious identical repeat samples. It's the only time the kit just sounds straight up fake to me. It might not be as obvious when playing with other instruments, but they really should address that with some sort of sample / processing randomization.

It's really a great instrument; if they fix that little problem, I'd give it 5 stars.

But, don't let that little problem stop you from getting one if you yearn to practice quietly with loud, great tones!
