Step onstage and step up to the Roland RD-700GX, an incredible stage piano with impressive pianos onboard, plus audio-play and master control features. This electronic piano is powered by Roland's latest sound engine for incredible sound quality. The flagship RD-700GX leads the market with its SuperNATURAL instruments and a PHA II "Ivory Feel" keyboard with Escapement.
The RD-700GX is anchored by Roland's finest 88-key stereo multi-sampled piano engine, including an exceptionally expressive piano sound, with every note captured using a generous amount of wave capacity. In addition to its super-expressive onboard piano sound-sets, other essential instruments are built into this Roland piano, including electronic pianos. You can even customize and save your sounds for instant recall.
Your fingers will love the RD-700GX's top-of-the-line PHA II "Ivory Feel" keyboard with Escapement. This amazing keyboard technology reproduces the real surface feel of ivory acoustic piano keys providing a familiar stability and comfort to the pianist. The keys are designed to absorb moisture, ensuring a secure, slip-proof feel, even in the hottest stage environments where sweaty hands can spell disaster.
Another distinguishing feature of the RD-700GX is its electric piano sound bank derived from Roland's unique SuperNATURAL technology. Enjoy realism, expression, and control like never before with this special selection of EPs that provide amazingly authentic and organic tonal response.
USB Audio Enhancement
Play audio through the RD-GX directly from a USB memory key. Flexible file compatibility enables playback of Standard MIDI Files, .WAV, AIFF, and MP3s. The "Audio Key" feature lets you use the bottom 15 keys for controlling start song, song length, etc. In addition, you can connect directly to a PC via USB and tap into Cakewalk SONAR LE software, included in every RD-GX package.
For those who like to get inside an instrument and customize its sounds, the RD-GX's Piano Designer feature is your key to unlocking and personalizing the sound-set, down to the smallest details such as Hammer Noise, Damper Resonance, Duplex Scale and more. In the Roland RD-700GX, sounds can be further customized with the eight channels of powerful onboard multi-effects.
Sound Expansion, Master Control
Expand and personalize the internal sound-set by adding up to two optional Roland SRX expansion boards, then take your music to the stage. The RD-700GX piano makes a great master controller, thanks to multi-zone functionality and three MIDI outputs.

Roland realy did it with this model, the piano sounds 10X better, the key are unbelievable. absorves when your hands get moistured. great feeling and fast to navigate. I use it at church and I'm a big Yamaha guy, MOtif xs and all. But for live performance even Yamaha has a long way to go and make a great piano like this one. I recomend it!!!!!I gues I was the first to have it here in Massachussets. God is a good God and my instrument is for his praise, So I thank God for this intrument
I tried all 88 note weighted boards and could of had anyone of what was in stock. I chose the RD-700 GX for realism, feel style and features not found in any other board in any brand! I wish it were not so heavy! Maybe I am just getting old but 55 pounds ain't light. It's the wood in the PA-4 hammer action that all adds up. Over all, you as a player would be hard pressed to find a better playing or sounding board next to a Steinway! Now thats heavy.
This piano oozes Musical Instrument-ness. It behaves, feels and sounds like a real acoustic instrument. Even when you press the sustain pedal, the virtual piano case vibrates/slightly. Close your eyes and you could happily believe you're sitting at a grand piano. I've yet to use it live (this Sunday will be my fist time with the band but I've not been this excited about an electronic instrument since I got my FP7 4 years ago. I thaought THAT was good but the 700GX trounces it. Go for one today!
I just upgrade from a Roland RD-700 that had two SRX expansion cards to the RD-700GX. What a big change in terms of sound quality and playability. Really loving the Expressive Grand, EP's, and the ivory-like keys. The sound quality is just stunning. My RD-700 was very nice.... this keyboard should meet my keyboard needs for the next 5 - 10 years at least.
Just picked up my RD today. Oh my gosh. It's amazing! The EP's stand out to me as the most incredible feature of board, even down to the realistic tine and reed ambient sounds. Great keys, they feel just like my grand. Have only listened through an amp so far, but it makes the little amp sound like gold. Great job Roland!
