Comments about Roland KD-9 Electronic Drum Kick Pad:
Unfortunately, my new KD-9 became indented within the first 2 weeks of owning it where both pedals hit. It still triggers okay, but it doesn't have a real bass drum feeling. Honestly, the only way you'll get that is to use one of the mesh bass drums (aside from real drums). If those are too bouncy for you, just play around with the tightness of the head. This is definitely nicer than the rubber heads, but wasn't meant for metal apparently. I'd rate lower than 3 stars if rubber bass drums didn't exist. There's more bounce than the rubber heads which is 1/2 the reason I got the TD-11KV. This is a cloth head with a foam backing or something like that. The foam on the underside of mine is what has the indent. The head is okay. Using the plastic sides of the beaters like recommended. I don't use the felt beaters anyways. Hoping that GC will work with me to upgrade. They're usually pretty good to me :)
