I started to play the guitar last year and was really getting good at the concept of playing. My history teacher had this activity every Friday after school called guitar club. Our school didn't really have any amps except for Roland cube 60, everyone else brought there own. I instantly fell in love with amp, it had all of the effects I was looking for plus, distortion presets (metal, classic, acoustic, and more). This amp has so much reserve power(volume) that i couldn't play it any louder than 4. This amp is a necessity to any musician that plays many styles of music.
I stepped down from a JC-120 to the cube 60. Half the weight, better sound!! I play rhythm behind a 17 piece big band. I use the acoustic emulator for all the rhythm work, and a tap on the footswitch puts me with the JC-120 sound I need for my solo work. If I need to have a metal sound, I've got it right there with a twist of a knob. Very handy!!
I was debating over the Roland Cube 60 or some of the other modeling amps that are currently on the market. Afer doing much research, reading everything possible, I purchased my Roland Cube 60. This is absolutely the easiest amp I have ever used. No more pedals taking forever to adjust, hook up & mess with for that perfect sound. The effects that are built in are incredible. They sound fantastic. The amp models....Wow! All the way from the JC 120 to the Mesa Rectifier this amp is a monster. Loud did you say? This thing screams. I can barely tolerate it past 4! Plug it into a 4x12 cabinet & you have a ready to gig set up....minus all the hassle of "getting the right sound". Tuner out, speaker out, phone jack, foot switchable effects / channels...I've never had so much fun playing guitar. Plug in & play. Best amp purchase I have ever made.
I decided to buy this amp because I own a Roland AC-60 and love it and because of the reviews on this page, all positive. I was not let down. Pros: Certainly loud enough since I cannot turn it past 3 Great effects Built solid Small but packs a punch Zero white noise, unlike the Fender, Crate, and Vox that I tried. Cons: None If you are looking for a small amp that thinks it's a big one, then this is it. You will not be disappointed.
This is by far the best practice amp anyone can buy. Starting off the 60 watts it puts out are loud. I have never used it for gigging because I have a gig worthy set up but if it came down to it I would not hesistate to use it. I played this thing in a local guitar store and on 5 it was shaking everything. I got it home and never have to turn it up to get what I want. The effects are excellent three diffent types of metal distortion Jazz Chorus emulator I thing the AC 30 emulator is better than Vox's valvetronix amps (which I used to own). My personal favorite thing about this amp is how easy it is to dial in a good sound it doesn't take much at all. Bottom line if your in the market for a new amp go to your local Guitar Center and give it a go you won't be disappointed.
This amp is very loud. I do not know who sold their soul for this one, but it is really really loud for a 60 watt amp. Great tones are built in along with a clean channel that I use a lot with my Line 6 POD's. It is also built like a tank with a metal grill and closed back. My son used this amp for a school show last spring. I figured that since it was in a large auditorium, I would have to crack it up, so I set the volume on 8. Even with active effects and an amp model I had to turn it down to 4 because it was just too loud. Again, this thing is really really loud!
My friend has this roland cube 60 and he started to play on it and it sounded very smooth. The best part is the response to the picking dynamics, you cant get that in many other amps. It is loud enough for small gigs. It is compact and lightweight, so I would recommend this for anyone looking for a gigin amp that is very copact and responsive.
I've had this amp for over 2 years now and i have had no problems with it at all. The effects in it are amazing its like having all different pedals hooked up into one amp. I love the gain selecter so you can choose metal or Acoustic. The sound is awsome when you crank it up high. Its sounds better than all the other amps ive used when i crank them up. Overall great amp i would defiently recommend it to anyone who is looking for great sound and different effects. It is all so good for all different kinds of music.
Its a great amp with great sound. Its filled with all kinds of effects to change the sound. I used it at the local guitar store and its one of their recommended amps. Great sound at a great price.
