Overview

Building on the top-level tone and rock-solid reliability that's made the CUBE name famous, the all-new CUBE-GX series turns up the heat with even more versatile operation and connectivity for Apple's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The flagship CUBE-80GX packs a punch with 80 big watts of power and a custom-designed 12-inch speaker, delivering first-class performance in a compact amp that's ready for the stage. 11 COSM amp types and three independent channels-including a fully programmable SOLO channel-put a huge range of tones at your command, with remote control of channel switching, effects, and more via the optional GA-FC Foot Controller. i-CUBE LINK takes practice and mobile recording to a new level, providing a simple onboard audio interface for working with music apps on your favorite iOS devices.

VERSATILE TONES AND THREE INDEPENDENT CHANNELS
The CUBE-80GX features a wide range of COSM amp types and three independent channels for maximum tonal versatility. The JC CLEAN channel provides the renowned clean tone of Roland's famous JC-120, while the LEAD channel offers ten different amp choices, from blackface clean to Brit overdrive to the original EXTREME amp for massive, high-gain metal riffs. A third SOLO channel is completely programmable, allowing you to store all settings from either the JC CLEAN or LEAD channel, along with EQ and effects.

TOP-QUALITY EFFECTS AND ONBOARD TUNER
Three separate effects sections supply pro guitar processing right onboard the CUBE-80GX, with simple controls for dialing up great tones with ease. The EFX section offers five stompbox-type effects, while the dedicated DELAY section provides two different delay types. REVERB is included as well, with your choice of vintage spring emulation or a studio-style plate. The CUBE-80GX also features a chromatic/manual tuner, conveniently built right into the amp!

I-CUBE LINK: BUILT-IN INTERFACE FOR IOS DEVICES
Onboard the CUBE-80GX is Roland's innovative i-CUBE LINK interface, which lets you integrate with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using a real guitar amp with great tone. Unlike typical bulky and inconvenient iOS guitar interfaces, i-CUBE LINK connects to your device's audio jack quickly and simply with the included cable, providing two-way communication with your favorite music apps. With i-CUBE LINK, you can play along with music tracks and send studio-quality guitar tones with effects straight into the recording app of your choice. The versatile i-CUBE LINK jack can also be used as a simple stereo input, enabling you to plug in nearly any music player or audio device and play it through the CUBE-80GX.

CUBE JAM APP: POWERFUL, FUN AND FREE
Available for free from the App Store, the Roland CUBE JAM app turns your iOS device into a fun command center for jamming, recording, and learning. Play back commercial songs and minus-one tracks through the CUBE-80GX via i-CUBE LINK and riff along for hours with the amp's great tones. CUBE JAM also records audio through the i-CUBE LINK connection, letting you capture your jams with a single touch. After recording, you can adjust the volume of your guitar and backing music independently in the app, then export your mix to a 16-bit, 44.1kHz WAV file. CUBE JAM also includes powerful tools for music practice, including independent speed and pitch adjustment of audio playback, Center Cancel to remove solos and create your own jam tracks, and more.

Very surprised. Perfect for my application. Owned many other high priced amps (bogner, Marshall, etc.) but this one is the best bang for the buck. This sounds very good for a solid state amp. Easy to set up and operate too. Six out of five stars for Roland and Guitarcenter!!!!!!!

Comments about Roland CUBE-80GX 80W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

80 watts for about $450 is a pretty good deal (if you are gigging with it-it's quite portable). Best to use your own pedal setup through the clean channel (beautiful). For some reason, all the lead tones (no matter how you adjust the eq) come out sounding like it's underwater. The effects are great, very clean and easy to manipulate. The use of an aux speaker line to hook up with a device is nothing special - you end up still using what you like (garageband, etc.) b/c the Roland proprietary app is average (I can't figure out how to loop stuff on it yet).

Comments about Roland CUBE-80GX 80W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I've been playing since I was 7, and I'm 49. I've owned (as have many) a lot of amps. This is, by far, my favorite in all that time. Is it a $3000 boutique amp, no, but is it a tremendously versatile, useful, and great sounding amp, yes. I liked it so much I bought my wife the 40 watt version, as she is learning to play. I can honestly say, in 42 years of playing, this is the most happy I have been with a product related to my instrument.

Comments about Roland CUBE-80GX 80W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have enjoyed 40+ years of music performing. During that time I have experienced many amplifiers. A good friend, and experienced guitarist, recommended I purchase the Roland 80GX cube amp. So I did, mostly because of the light weight, and small size of the amp. Weight and portability is an important consideration for my gig venue because I'm getting older, and heavy old gear is becoming obsolete. GC ordered me the amp, and had it delivered to my home. I tried out the amp only to be amazed with it's performance. It has everything a guitarist would like, but most of all an excellent tone using it's reverb/delay and many other effect enhancer's. The 80GX cube is the amp I've been searching for. I use to be a die-hard "Music Man"(MM)amp user. MM amps were the high end guitar sound in my life for decades. However, to my delight, the 80GX has a warm tone as good if not better than the Music Man tube output sound. I would recommend the 80GX over any MM amp. Sorry Leo. Technology has passed the tube era here, in my opinion. In addition, the amp is powerful, (75 W into a sweet 12" speaker)and with "line out" to go to the PA mix if needed. You set up the control knobs and your sound is there...no additional programming issues. Functionality that works! I had once owned the Fender Mustang 3. I got rid of it due to having to program it every time I wanted to use it. The 80GX cube is ready to go, with a great sound, tone and power ! No additional programming. Change is a reality we all need to be aware of, and it is sometimes hard to accept. I have respect for a lot of old gear out there; however, now I would question that old tube amp out there before I buy it. There are many good amplifiers available, but I need to consider will it improve my performance? How is the amp 's functionality and set up? Is the cost worth it ? For the investment cost, the 80GX is excellent. For my music, and as a jazz guitarist, it is wonderful. I highly recommend this amp. Check it out.

                A Steal!

Comments about Roland CUBE-80GX 80W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

First off ...let me start by saying for the money you will not find an amp out there that sounds as great as this does...NOT a tube amp. but for a solid state this amp is fantastic! the models are very well done and completely and easily tweakable..no little buttons to push and scrolling just good old fashion KNOBS! turn a little either way and your creating different tones and the amt of Tones are endless...basically you have a 3 band EQ an independent Reverb with 2 different styles (spring and Platte) as well as separate Delay which also has 2 styles (warm/clear)basically(Analog/Digital) and Tap Tempo. 5 effects (Chours..Flange/Phase/Tremand HvyOctv)all tweakable and sound awesome...also Apple users this is for u basically a free jam station with rec/track slow down and jams etc. for you to use ..very cool. nice and loud as well. You have all you need for Rock/Metal/thrash as well as clean Blues country and Jazz...any sound you are looking for you will find. Has a solo button which acts as a 3rd channel you can set up and use as a boost for soloing. I play a lot of AC/DC...VH..Maiden...as well as Clapton this handles all great.LOVE IT ! best money I've spent in awhile. I shopped and played all the others (Line 6..Vox..Fender..Peavy..and though all have nice features of there own none as complete or sound as great as this..as well as the ease of use . Try one of these if your in market and on a budget of under 400.00 you wont be disappointed .
