  • Next best thing to a real B-3!

As reviewed by jazz4jesus on 6/30/2008

We bought this module for its portability. We have a Korg CX-3 organ that we use for local performances, but this little guy fits in a laptop case and goes on an airplane VERY easily! Our keyboardist/organist connects it to the main keyboard via MIDI and he absolutely LOVES it. The D-Beam is a VERY cool feature. By waving your hand over the "eye" you can change leslie speeds! I highly recommend this as an add-on module for gigging or as a cheaper alternative to buying a Hammond or Korg organ. The samples are VERY good.

  • The 7-1/2 pound B3!

As reviewed by Paul Roberts on 3/21/2010

I've used the VK7 and thought it was good, but the VK8m smokes it. It is also better than the Korg and Nord clone wheels and has a warmer amp sound than the NI B4II soft synth organ. I have a 1959 Hammond M3 at home and is very close to the real deal. The Amp sim is great! Get all the tones from 50's 60's 70's and way-overdriven sounds! I have set my control keyboard up to control the leslie slow/fast with a control pedal (CC80) and even control lower/upper drawbars using the keyboards fader controls. I've had mine for 3-1/2 years with 2-3 gigs a week and it got rained on, baked in the sun, dust, dropped and still works like a champ. If mine died, I would replace it for sure or get one of the other VK8 organs.
