  This drum set I purchased because i didn't want to take care of a real drum set and it was also more transportable and I could plug it in to my recording equipment. I use this drum set almost every day and it is amazing. Unless your not willing to read a thin set up manual and put it together this takes no time to get set up and you can play instantly. I recommend you get stereo head phones to plug in for quite play and you will have to buy a drum amp separately (guitar amps will not work). I play guitar but having this drum set is not only fun but If you are mainly set on playing drums there is no reason you should pay a lot more money on a real one when this plays amazing. There is ONLY 2 non-realistic things about this, first you may hit lightly for a light sound and it may not pick it up and you will get no response. That is really only an issue if you are playing live which you will most likely not with this kit. Secondly the resinense doesn't sound perfect on the crash, high hat, etc. but this can be fixed in the drum sets menu I'm pretty sure. Overall great purchase and I'm sorry I wrote for this long but i wanted to explain how good of a purchase this is :D.

  I went in to my local GC expecting to buy one of the cheaper Alesis sets as I didn't have a lot of money to spend and just moved to a new place. When i got in I just had to try out this set which looked sturdier and just all around better. I played for a little bit and when I finished I looked at the price expecting something much higher. I was surprised and just had to have it. Even down to the rack it outdoes any Alesis set in the price range. The set up was simple and I was able to play in no time. I have had it for a few weeks and it has really held its own. Some of the sets in the TD-4 module are kind of weak but you can mix and match sounds to make custom ones that you like. A nice surprise was all of the different types of percussion in the module. All in all it is a great set for beginners or experienced players looking for less noise or easy recording.

• The Perfect Starter's Kit for Jamming and Practicing

  I bought this kit after deciding I wanted to learn the drums and have been teaching myself on it for around 8 months. It is easy to set up and move around the house when I need to, and has been a lot of fun to play. Roland builds high-quality hardware that stands up to hard playing. The kit is a lot of fun at jam sessions because of its versatility. Being electronic, it can be quiet (when played with headphones) or loud (with an amp). Overall, the TD-4K is a great drum set, with the only drawback being that electronic kits are not as good as acoustic kits for large performances. For any other use, I highly recommend it.
