Advanced amplification for V-Drums.

Roland's V-Drums, the world's leading electronic drum kits, deserve nothing less than superior amplification. The PM-30 Drum Monitor is a top-of-the-line 2.1-channel advanced powered speaker system with 200 watts of class-D power, a high-performance 12" woofer with tweeter, a pair of 4" satellite speakers, and a proprietary DSP engine. The PM-30 delivers powerful, clear, full-range sound in a package that's cleanly designed and comfortable to transport.

Full-Range Sound
With its two satellite speakers and matching 12" woofer enclosure with tweeter, the PM-30 delivers a clear, full-frequency sound. The selectable "full-range and subwoofer" modes, with accompanying value dial, let you customize the amp's low-frequency performance, while the built-in 3-band EQ lets you fine-tune the tone from high to low.

Quad Power Pack
Four Class-D power amplifiers are built into the PM-30 system--100W, 50W, and 50W--for a total of 200 watts of high-performance impact. It's plenty of power for rehearsals and small- to medium-size venues. Line outputs are provided for tapping into larger systems when needed.

Great for V-Drums
Roland V-Drum owners will appreciate the PM-30's special V-Drum input, which accepts a single stereo TRS feed from the V-Drums' headphone output. But that's only part of the compatibility story. Roland's engineers carefully optimized the PM-30 for use with V-Drum kits via newly created DSP.

Input/Output Options
The PM-30 provides a flexible input path with three input channels (both 1/4" and RCA input types are offered) and two sets of outputs (1/4" line stereo outputs are provided, plus an additional pair of outputs for the satellite speakers).

Transport & Setup
A solid crossbar spans the top of the PM-30's base unit for convenient carrying; two side handles are provided as well. The two satellite speakers can be clamped onto the crossbar or mounted onto a drum rack (as pictured).

  • Best Amp for V-Drums

As reviewed by Ray on 11/23/2009

This Amp/Monitor totally Rocks! The highs/lows sound perfect. Can't believe how much sound comes out of this fairly compact system. A perfect match for my Roland TD-20SX V-Drums.

  • Great Product

As reviewed by Cameron Balch on 1/2/2011

I just received this as a gift and I absolutely love it. Granted, it is expensive, but if you can swing the money, I highly recommend it. I still havent turned it up all the way, and the thing is extremely powerful. It reproduces the sounds of the V Drums very nicely, and the satellite speakers are a plus. The bass reproduction is also very nice because it can get extremely deep. I have yet to play above other monitors so I cant speak on that, but I could not foresee it having any trouble whatsoever.

  • It's the best out there for the price

As reviewed by Drumstix on 6/27/2009

After trying the Simmons DA-50 and DA-200, and not being fully satisfied with either, I decided to get the Roland PM-30. Thanks to Guitar Center return/upgrade policies, I could try both the others before finalizing on the PM-30. The PM-30 has an Stereo 1/4" input that works with the Headphone output from you module. Neither of the Simmons' models do. This gives you the ability to control your monitoring level using the headphone trim and leave the master our and direct outs for the main mixer. The DA-50 sounded too jarring when fed from the headphone output of the module. The PM-30 also has a 3-channel mixer while the others have one instrument input and an Auxillary input. The DA-200s has build in DIs to allow better interface to a mixer. This is the one thing the PM-30 does not give you. Also the DA-200s allows you to connect external satellite speakers like the PM-30 does, however I could not easily find a matching set. The PM-30 includes satellite speakers. When I contacted Simmons, their recommendation was to get Roland's satellites, which unfortunately, you cannot buy separately. When it comes to sound quality, the DA-50 is a non starter. At best it can be used at home at low volumes, but it failed as a personal monitor on stage at small gigs. The DA 200 is pretty good, but does not have external speakers to widen the sound field. The PM-30 is by far the best with the ability to switch the large speaker from full range to subwoofer mode, a 3-band graphic and a 'punch' button that increases the bass and mid range levels to add more feel to the sound. The overall tone of the PM-30 is very good and matches well with the sounds in the TD-12 (and obviously the TD-20) module. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good (even loud) personal monitor for home, stage and even house sound on small gigs.
