don't be mislead...
I own this kit. I'm a girl, and so I needed something I could carry by myself to gigs. This seemed to be the obvious choice. It's pretty good overall. The whole "just take it out of the box and play" is untrue. More like, drag the huge box up the stairs, put in all the screws, attach the pedals, attach the monitor, etc. but it's still way easier than any other kit. If you're over 5'7 you won't like it! I haven't taken it to a gig yet, but It will be a lot easier than making 7 trips to the car carrying 3 huge toms and 1 enormous kick drum. You dont have to worry about re-tuning, no broken snare strings, and no cracked cymbals. The ride could be a little louder on setting 1. I love the double kick. I'd give it an 8.5/10.

Not Quite Ready Yet
Though the idea of a compact/quiet drumset is very interesting, this set has some kinks to be worked out before it is ready to be sold. The way the kit is set up seems to be unreal to the way a real kit would be played (that might be able to be changed). Most importantly the kick pedal is terrible. The action is weak and it doesn't pick up double strokes. The idea of course is to make it quiet by not using a real pedal/beater, but if you were looking for some real practice time, stay away until it is ready

best of the entry level kits
I bought this kit to replace the crappy "other brand" kit I had for only one month (you get what you pay for). I am extremely pleased with its features, easy set up, and overall value. Practice time is valuable, so when the wife is sick of hearing my feeble Neil Peart impression, I plug the headphones into this thing. Perfect.

good idea...but
I played this one just the other day. I've tried out all of Roland's V-drums. I also had experience with them through a church I've played for. This new one does everything it says it will do. The v-drum technology is present, but limited. great practice kit. Convincing feel. But if this will be your very first set (perhaps for a son or daughter)...I say pass. You will out grow it fast and if you want to get serious about playing drums you will likely want a traditional drum set anyway. This this would be great for doing recording on your PC, assuming it will let you.

Pretty cool!
This set is pretty unique. What I like about it is that it's skinny. It's a five set. and that it is cool. Well I don't have it but it would be awesome to have. Very very portable. Also, lightweight. (if you can't tell)
