amazing piano sound

My reasons for purchasing this are probably different than most. I bought it as a Christmas gift for my wife. She loves piano, but our home isn't big enough for a grand, and uprights and digitals usually lack the sound. The ultimate grand sound that comes out of this keyboard is amazing, "Steinwayesque", you could say. I have a $10,000 Kohler digital baby grand at my business, and this thing sounds much better just coming out of a set of studio speakers. The key action is perfect for piano, maybe a bit too heavy for synth. I'd look at the x-7 or x-6 if synth is your main deal. The other sounds are all superb as well. The organs and strings are great as well. This thing is a composer's dream. It can realy inspire your creativity. I lack keyboard knowledge, but I have been enjoying this thing myself. It will probably take years to learn all of the features, not that that would be a bad thing. This keyboard will grow with you.

Simply, the best

I know for a while Korg was considered to have the best workstations and were a studio favorite, but times are changing and the Roland Fantom x8 is the best of the best. Honestly, it doesn't get any better, with room for 4 SRX expansions this baby has it all. Roland has amazing piano sounds, heck amazing every sound you could want. I don't think there is a more functional workstation out there. You can make a song with the onboard sequencer in just a few short minutes. USB, V-Link, simply a must have!

I love this keyboard

I had a Roland XP-80 and really liked it for what I was doing, which was recording and duo gigs with a female singer. But the Fantom X8 is incredible. I always played in bands and still want to. But in the meantime, I can put copy and original songs together by myself. It's like a band at your fingertips. Or an orchestra. OR BOTH!. The piano sounds are incredible as are ALL the sounds. I'm still stumbling across features this thing can do. Got a great price at Guitar Center - San Francisco. Next, I'm going back to Van Ness for some serious amplified speakers that can faithfully reproduce what this instrument can do. Can't say enough about Roland Fantom X8. Hey guys at GC - SF, see ya soon..!

This keyboard is awesome

I picked up my X-8 a few weeks ago and havent been able to put it down since. The best part is that I am still learning new features and tricks about my Fantom. The D-Beam blew my mind since I like the idea of having a theramin, or theramin like device which the D-Beam is. I love the ease of use as well. Everything is layed out in a straight forward manner. This thing is amazing!

I'm getting one of my own!

I was never a fan of the Fantom until I got my hands of the X8. I immediatly fell deep in love! From the sounds to the feel. And the on-board recorder ain't bad either! I used it for a gig and it was so easy to use unlike some of the other boards I've used. And I could not believe I could save favorites instead of pressing buttons or using TAPE for a list. If you don't have one GET ONE! I'm getting one of my own...
