Depending on the instrument, the Roland EV-5 Expression effects pedal can function as a volume pedal, real-time parameter control pedal, or data-entry pedal. A multi-purpose pedal for many Roland and Boss products.
I have had 2 of these with my Roland VK77, and they reach a point where you get massive jumps in volume due to the potentiometer wearing out.Hey Roland ever hear of Bournes or Allen Bradley? They make quality Pots. I think $60 for about 2 years of use is outrageous, but because I own a Roland organ I must use this.....

I play guitar, so I bought this expression pedal to use with my Boss PS-5. It is made of plastic so it is wise not to step on it too hard. One thing I didn't like about it is that when you press down on the pedal, it doesn't start to alter your sound until it is about halfway pressed, which gets a little frustrating. But other than that, this is a very good expression pedal.

Watch out. This pedal has a very fragile cord and plug. Make sure you don't put it through any "normal" wear. Connections are liable to malfunction leaving you with a dead pedal and a lost investment. Otherwise I found it functional...but subject to a short lifespan if not careful.
