  • Buy for Appearance - OK If You Leave the Keyboard Attached

As reviewed by Lyle Diefenthaler on 12/18/2010

A little pricey but if you want a matching appearance, it looks very nice. The legs are very thick but the cross piece is thin and the joint between the cross piece and leg is weak. This means the keyboard needs to be attached (4 bolts) for the whole unit to be strong. When the keyboard is detached, there is danger of the joints on the stand being bent and damaged. Handle with care! So if you plan to leave the keyboard attached to the stand, no problem. But if you plan to detach it often, don't move the stand around without the keyboard. Also, the 4 bolts need to be fastened or the keyboard just sits on top of the 4 metal brackets and could slide off. The legs of the stand are also not very wide, which means the keyboard could be tipped over with a big enough bump. For travel, we also bought the Proline PL-400 double-X portable stand which is very sturdy with a wide base and is more stable than the KSC-44.
