Product Information

Wide tonal range with acoustic cymbal response.

With the CY-15R V-Cymbal Ride Roland gives you a 15" electronic ride cymbal with the same movement as an acoustic ride. A selectable dual-trigger system (edge/bow or bow/bell) allows for use as a ride cymbal or a large crash cymbal. Better still, simultaneous 3-way sensing (edge/bow/bell) is possible using the V-Drums' TD-10 sound module equipped with the latest version of TDW-1 Wave and System Expansion Board. With this board, the CY-15R even provides positional sensing on the bow section of the cymbal allowing for incremental tonal changes in the manner of an acoustic ride.

The ride you can ride for the rest of the trip. With unlimited possibilities for collectible cymbal sounds. Put it in your Guitar Center cart today!

Roland CY-15R V-Cymbal Ride Features:

  • Fifteen-inch ride cymbal with realistic playing feel
  • Selectable dual-trigger system for use as a ride or large crash
  • Simultaneous triple sensing (using TD-10 Sound Module with TDW-1 with V-Cymbal Control)
  • Compatible with all Roland TD-Series/SPD-Series sound modules

Close to a real ride cymbal

Roland makes the best e-cymbals on the market, and the CY-15 R/C is the best of them all. While nothing is going to feel or respond like a real cymbal, this is as close as it gets. It's responsive, can be choked, and has multiple zones including the bell, bow and edge. Combined with a Roland drum brain, you can play any kind of music and get just about any sound you can think up. The only place they fall completely flat is if you are trying to use brushes, but if that's your thing, e-drums aren't for you anyway. I wasted a lot of money looking for a ride e-cymbal that would feel like a real ride. I finally broke down and bought this thing 4 years ago, and haven't looked back. The only thing that would make this cymbal even better is if the bell was slightly larger, which would make the zone bigger as well. This cymbal is expensive, but you will only need to make the investment once, which will save you time and money in the long run.
